I worked on the Corrugator machine for 27 years in California, USA. The machine in this video is an old fashion corrugating machine that was used in the early 1900's here in the states. The Machine that was on fire is called a Single Facer. The single facer with the proper temperature will bond the top liner which is the inside liner of the box to the Medium liner which is the corrugated liner that is inside the box with corn starch adhesive. It is now called the web. From there the workers cut the web to a short size. The machine they used to cut the web is called the slitter. Then they took the web to the glue unit. They bonded the outside liner with the print side out onto the web. From their it is now called the corrugated sheet. The workers stacked the corrugated sheets with minimal warp to a staging area ready, to be formed. From the staging area they took the corrugated sheet to be converted into a box. The machine that stamped, creased the sheet is called a Die Cutter. It cuts out the pattern so the sheet can be folded into a box. Yes it is dangerous work if your not following the safety procedures and SOP.

Wow thanks for the history lesson and your expertise in this field this my mother’s native country and ive always been astounded as to how productive and hard working they are in the ghetto with very little modern or safety and investment they just seem to get on with it without moaning or complaining which seems to be a no1 pass time in the west nowadays

Open flames right next to exposed paper, guys putting their hands in to an automatically cycling machine to have to pull them out before it closes... Holy crap that whole operation looks dangerous as hell.

6:20 please protect this guy sitting up or create some safeguard for him, because i have anxiety that his clothes will get tangled to the machine, and he will be .... just.... idk, even some sheet of steel or wood between him and the fast spinnig rollers

The Die Cutter at the end is still very much in use today in the US. We ran several of those for many years and ours only had one Operator feeding and removing cut sheets at speeds of about 1000 per hour. Gotta hand it to those boys they’re making some quality packaging with a Rube Goldberg set up !!

How come the paper doesn't catch on fire?

Amazing work. It was a while back but I visited a company that had a machine that did the entire process. From corrugating the paper, printing and die cutting.

Semi automatic production, i can see, still using fire to heated up the roller, and manually glue the medium into the top box, low cost of investmen but achieve good result, well done

Because usually corrugator machine comes with giant machine and lot of sophisticated tools, see your video makes me realized, it can be done for medium or small scale
