After finishing the series so many times, I wanted to play like I've never played. Killing Wrex in ME1, letting some squat members die in ME2 and do the very bad decisions in ME3. But I just couldn't do it. To all the game developers out there, this is how you create amazing characters!

I really do miss this story. Andromeda just won't be the same. It could be great. It's dubious but it COULD even be better, but nothing will ever replace this story, or it's value to me. To say it's the greatest game I've ever played would do it a disservice, and might not hold true in perpetuity. Every year or so, I will read the Kingkiller Chronicle, and The Dark Tower. Every year or so I will binge watch LOST. I will watch Edward Scissorhands, The Princess Bride, The Lord of the Rings (& Hobbit). I have done this my whole life since first experiencing these stories. Mass Effect is the first and only game trilogy (thus far) I will play again every year or so for the rest of my life.

Saddest part for me in this one was Mordin's part. I honestly think that if there was one line meant for any character ever made, that was made perfectly for him.

After he dies and replaying the game, hearing him say that line during random conversations tugs at my heartstrings

it reminds me. “It's like the great stories, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad has happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. I know now folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something. That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.”

This is why I love Mass Effect, you grow to care for your team mates (even the ones who start off as assholes #Jack#, #Zaeed#) and they stand by you from start to finish, if anything happens to them (Like Thane, Mordin, Legion) you actually feel something.

8 years and this is still the best mass effect tribute video ever. Will definitely be watching this before I play mass effect legendary edition.

Joined the military back in February, and I'll tell ya, some days are hard as hell. The beginning quotes really hit home for me. Love Mass Effect and your video editing ability. Helped me out a lot today.

It's tributes like this that show that there's a lot more to games. Games can make you feel something in your heart. Teach you morals. Especially with mass effect. Amazing job.

I keep coming back to this tribute whenever I need a good cry, my god...theres no words to do ME justice to me.

I hadn't cried from a game or a movie in years, heck basically haven't since I was a kid, but this game. . . It's special, it makes you feel like that is the best team in the universe, that the friendships are the most important ones you could ever imagine, your character as Shepard has to trust their lives to them, and they never let you down. Thank you for this tribute.

This trilogy is really a once in a lifetime experience that so many of us will always be grateful for. Hope you're getting to enjoy it all over again with legendary. :)

I keep coming back to this video after 2 years, and can't help myself to shed a tear on the Mordin scene.

You just captured the essence of what Mass Effect is. The true bond between you and your squad. A real band of brothers ready to die for any in the team. Shivers and goosebumps during the whole video. Amazing job!!!!

If you don't develop strong feelings of attachment to any less than 10 of the characters in this game, you're little more than a sociopath undeserving of love. Shepard, Garrus, Wrex, Liara, Tali. Mordin, Legion, Thane, Grunt. EDI. How anyone could not love those characters is beyond me. Secondarily, I can't imagine anyone not loving at least a few of these guys in addition to the 10 above: Joker, Anderson, Miranda, Jack, Samara, Javik, Traynor, Aria. I can see some people getting turned off by some of these characters, either due to lack of depth, or hard to accept personality traits, but not all of them. I can however understand, most people disliking: Ashley, Jacob, Morinth, Vega.

Got mass effect legendary edition today. I am a man of my word, I'm watching this video before I play it. Still the best mass effect tribute video ever.

I love this tribute. The Mass Effect trilogy is one of those game series that isn't just about good gameplay. It actually gets you invested in the story and characters and makes you care what happens to them.

Ive only started the mass effect trilogy with the legendary edition and just started the 2nd one, but i am blown away with just how amazing the characters are so well detailed and the emotional deliverance of them is flawless this game has impressed me at every turn and even brought me to tears on occasion and i can definitely see myself replying over and over just to keep having these characters in my life

Thanks, glad you liked. :) I usually listen to loads of songs before choosing one for a vid because I feel that the music determines everything else I choose from the clips and edits to the sound effects and dialogue. Decided to make this vid though straight away after listening to this great song. :D

The fact that so many people and unique characters in a span of three games wrex,garrus,jack,thane, and joker I mean it actually felt like you as shepard made not only the best squad of misfits you made a family lets all drink for the ones we lost along the way

Wow. Just stumbled across this as I finished the Trilogy (LE) once again for The Who knows how many times. Amazing soundtrack and you really captured the essence of the game. The characters and story writing were just phenomenal and unfortunately developers don’t put the effort into it anymore nowadays. This is and will always be my to go to game at least once a year. What a ride.

Shepard's time is over. He did his/her job, and now it'a time for another story.

I wish I can like this more than once. Played it and beat this trilogy dozens of times. It got the feel scenes in the right spot. Love the video.

its things like this that make mass effect more then a game, its a world. when i hear "Had to be me, someone else might have gotten it wrong." i think of the devs just as much as mordin, and it appears that with andromeda, someone else did get it wrong. mass effect is one of the very few games thats made me cry like a baby. i remember beating... heh beating... you dont beat mass effect, you win by getting beat by it. i remember getting to the end of ME3 and just being totaly drained. i was out of fight, ready for some rest, felt like i needed a bit of shuteye, just like shep... but only one of us woke up after that. rest in peace, fiona shepard. you shall forever be remembered by me as the hero of heros. master chief doesnt have shit on you.

After the ending - yes the new extended enhanced ending - I was kind of depressed. Not just because it still sucked but also because I missed the Normandy's crew so much it hurt. Asked myself what to play next or what to do after finishing ME3... Turns out watching this video was exactly the right thing to do. Have watched it 20 times or more so far. Thank you for creating this :)

If you turn on the captions when Liara says "The Reapers won't get any more chances to divide us" it says "The first month get any more chances to define ass". Well done.

Despite lackluster ending to ME 3 this remain the best science fiction trilogy in history of video games - when crew of Normandy embodies whole galaxy deciding to stay together against a common threat, when in one voice galaxy declared; "we won't go quietly in to the night". And that's all thanks to best crew in ME universe, crew of SSV Normandy - one of the best crews in history of video games.
