So right, such a long ride. Feels like a lifetime actually :D these are what I love in games like this. They grap you and take you there, making you one of them. The Mass Effect games are the best games I've ever played. I just hope they keep making games like this. Games where you ARE there, not just feel like it.

Right now I am 10 hrs into Mass Effect 2 on my 9th playthrough of the Trilogy. And it is still amazing. I can see myself reloading this trilogy every year or two for decades. To remember Liara, Tali, Anderson, Wrex, Garrus, Samara, Ash, Grunt, ... All of them. "Best seats in the house..." "You did good son. I'm proud of you..." "Thank you sir... Anderson?..." (Emotional punch to the gut)

I know this has been said countless times, but God do I wish I could re-experience the ME franchise once more without knowing the outcome.

@@aethersshepard6081 pick up an engine (unity/ue4) , have a concept that you want to realize and get started. Studying game-science simply gives your knowledge a bit of legitimacy. I guess, combining both, studying and creating would work, too. Afterall, experience is better than knowledge.

I just realised that Liara is 109 in ME3, that's not even one quarter of her lifespan. Wrex is definitely beyond half of his lifespan which is similar to an asari's. That means Liara will outlive every other original squadmate. She'll witness Shepard's death, Joker's, Kaidan's, Tali's, Garrus', Wrex's. Grunt was bred full grown, who knows how long he has to live. But nonetheless, Liara and Grunt will be the last ones in the team to go. It's sad, really.

+Divine TheMusicianGamer Shepard didn't die type in mass effect indoctrination theory I found some proof that the hole thing in the end when he actually gets on the citidel is actually in his mind to see if he gives into the reaper because in his dream he keeps seeing the kid but the kid was never there in the begging in mess effect 2 in a dlc he touched a reaper articifact and the collector becon would have started it but Shepard's will was strong enough to hold on until he saw earth being invaded and remembering all the losses

The scene where Shep's chest rises among the rubble is available since the game's release and only if you have 5000 EMS (or 4000 and Anderson is not killed by TIM). The indoctrination theory was never confimred by BioWare, we shouldn't tconsider it canon, in my opinion, the Citadel part in the end was mostly an illusion but the fact Shepard activated the Crucible stays. Liara will not be in Andromeda. Her appearance ruin the game to be honest. ME Andromeda will not have a save import feature, Liara can die in ME3 and there are players who didn't romance her. It'd be best if Andromeda featured completely new characters without forcibly adding characters from the previous games.

i for one never bought into the indoctrination theory. Agree it is not canon with BW and they have said as much from what i read. Shepards true threat to the Reapers was that fact and I think they knew it. Her will was just too strong. If you read about Grayson, even he resisted when he focused, despite being tortured, redsanded, food and sleep deprivation etc...yes Asari outlive most other species and i think that hit liara hard in ME3 when she talks to Shepard. So for me, I always destroy the Reapers and Shepard lives..I have the feeling BW may give us a fourth ME with Shepard (giggidy)! its a dream i know but lets keep it alive!

i feel sincerely bad for anyone who hasn't experienced mass effect. this game is what confirms that video games are indeed art. I can't recall any other time when I've experienced something of such emotional, or intellectual resonance. mass effect is something that anyone with basic imagination can enjoy. why play shallow, boring games like battlefield, when with mass effect, you will be plunged head-first, into a world that i guarantee will leave a permanent impact on you, a lasting impression that you might truly never forget. mass effect needs to stay around for ever.

Greg Hanks i wish i hadn't tried the last of us, so i could've done the whole game all in one session. i got about 35% through it on a buddy's console, and now almost all emotional buildup is gone but yeah, its a good one. the best 15 minutes ever just in the intro.

We all cried those years ago. No other game has ever had me so invested in the characters. Especially Liara.

My internet had stopped working and was not gonna be up for days. That is when I decided to play the Mass Effect series. And I am very glad that I started from the 1st part. I was hooked and Mass Effect was all I did all day long. Wake up, Mass Effect, Sleep. Repeat. Completed ME1, got to ME2 and then ME3. When I was done with the series, I felt like my life had no purpose. I was so engulfed into the universe of Mass Effect and so much connected to the characters in the game that my real life seemed trivial and unimportant. I wished that I could somehow be taken to their universe. This was the only game that made me forget the real world completely and made me fall in love with this imaginary world. No game has ever matched this series for me.

+zZE94 I also had this "my life has 0 value" feeling after beating the saga. It wasn't even a month ago but I still feel empty. This game gave me a lot of good memories and I miss it. But I can't play them again. I know myself well enough, I'll get bored because ME1 gameplay/design is boring, ME2 has nice characters over a very (too much) linear story arc and ME3 is a lot too fresh. I did like how it ended (Destroy is really the canon way to go) and I just wish I could live in this utopic world (humanized aliens). I just found that the closest thing to the Mass Effect space opera lore is Futurama LMAO

I like Thane or Garrus. Thane is tragic, yet beautiful romance. Garrus is an emotional roller-coaster of humor and sadness. Tali has a sweet one, as well as Liara.

Look, I never cried for a movie, a book, a comic. Emotionally invested? Absolutely. But outright crying? Never. Until Mass Effect. And this theme, especially, has always had a special place in my heart for that.

I avoided Mass Effect for the longest time. But then I played it for the first time two years ago, and it was unlike anything I ever experienced, and it completely replaced my then-current video game obsession. I was a die-hard, no retreat Fallout fan, and then I experienced the trilogy of Mass Effect, and I realized there was no turning back from this experience, from the relationships that I formed. Nothing since has measured up to this. I know it my be just a video game, but deep inside, this world, this Mass Effect, means so much to me, and inspires in me to be better than I was. May it never be forgotten.

congokong87 Well, I have to admit....I really liked that ME gameplay I mean not the combat, that was quite terrible when it's compared to it's sequels, but I loved the inventory, power system was acceptable too.... ME2/ME3 are more like action/shooter games when compared to ME1, but story/dialogues stayed the same and thats what I care about. RPG or more like shooter...I don't care. Every single game from the trilogy took me on a feels trip and that games like CoD can only dream about :)

playing ME2 like now. This time sentinel, Garrus and Tali team, like always. Liara for the blue babies. You dont PLAY Mass Effect, you ARE part of the team. This game has blown my mind in so many ways, gotta love it and play it every year since ME1, nothing will ever top this epic legend of heroism, love, bravery and true friendship. Yeah, im kinda sucker for ME.

finishing ME1 for the first time this weekend, going for ME2 next week (the only part of the trilogy I already played one time) and then starting ME3 for my first time. This youtube video was the reason, I decided to go through the complete trilogy. ME1 did not age that well, but it is still a great game (I will miss you, Kaidan).

I finished the trilogy for the first time during the Covid-19 pandemic, the first game was great for a 2007 game (I was born in 2005 so the graphics looked strange to me), the second game was insane, I romanced Tali and lost Miranda, and I don't have any words for the third game, I just loved it, it is my favourite game of all time.

I finished my first play through of this series today. I cried when the credits rolled and I usually don’t get that emotional over games, books, and movies. It’s sad knowing that I’ll probably never experience anything like this trilogy again

+Melodeath by Countries I remember it was Liara for me :P Though I don't take it that personally anymore, haven't played Mass Effect in years. This tune only brings out some incredibly sensitive feelings about my past. I don't know what they are, it's uncertainty at extreme. Maybe that's what love is, feeling uncertain, but yet so certain and passionate about someone. I had forgotten it. And still, I don't know if I can ever accept this feeling again. That simple violin and piano melody strikes directly to my unconsciousness, and what is buried there. Works better than psychedelics.

Who after 8 years still does not overcome this song, I simply disarm when I hear it...

You know how everyone has that one song... that one piece of music that every time you hear it you stop everything you're doing just to listen to it because you just find it SO beautiful and it just fills you with so many emotions. Emotions that make you sad and happy all at the same time. Happy that it happened and for all the fond memories that are associated with it and also sad because it's over and we never got a truly happy ending to it and so many of those characters that we grew to absolutely love will probably never be heard from again. That piece of music that is just so much more that just some notes on a piece of paper but is instead pure emotion made into sound. This piece of music is that for me. I will always love the original trilogy and all the characters that came with it and I will always mourn the ending and the fact that we never got to build a house with Tali or have little blue children with Liara or any of those other beautiful things. This is not music. This is joy and sorrow. This is all of those wonderful and sad memories. This is pure emotion and passion. This. Is. Art.

There is something in Liara's voice, the way she speaks to all the characters but especially Shepard, and I can't exactly put my finger on what this is but she just radiates love and deep care, every time she says "hello, Shepard" she has me melting. Liara makes me cry through sheer affection alone. Of course it doesn't help that she'll outlive everybody in the crew, and while she assures you it's just part of here culture I feel like it eats away at her

I was in a living hell when I starting playing Mass Effect, this trilogy keeps me from falling into despair, the commander teach me how to keep going even if everything is madness and nearly everyone dont believe in you, I never feel so attatched to a game, until mass effect trilogy, so thank you Commander Shepard!

Well.... Here I am.... Once again. Just finished the whole thing for the 7th time.... Now with DLCs tho, in Legendary Edition.... Might be the last time i play it, at least until i have kids.... You know... We all talk how we want to forget all and feel this adventure once again... But I just felt the bittersweetness of finishing ME like the first time this time, maybe even greater now... The feeling of leaving all those good friends, loves, and memories behind but still in your heart.... It never hit as hard as tonight when i finaly ended the trilogy for the 7th time..... This is the game that marked me the most, no doubt, and fuck i played a shitton of games ever since i was 6... At least now I'm old enough to enjoy the bittersweetness of feelings turning to memories instead of breaking down like i did the first time ME3 credits rolled... Just thinking aloud, not trying to make a point or motivate anyone with my speech.... I... Just really fucking love this saga......

@@MovieAndTVThemes Dreadful, i didnt care for ME:A bc it was a spin off and were it to flop because greedy developers trying to milk the series ruined it the original saga would be left intact. I dont want to be nostalgia pandered If they make another masterpiece then wonderful, I'll be crying of happiness all over again. But the ME trilogy was perfect in the sense that it was complete: origins, developement and closure of the whole story. Remember this: NONE of the original creators are in the studio anymore, and they just fucked up the other way they had to milk the franchise...

Btw I know a lot of people shit on it but you should give Mass Effect Andromeda a try, there is a lot of references to the original saga, the gameplay is amazing, the planet are beautiful as hell etc, it's not perfect but it's a pretty good game.

I'm about to finish the trilogy for my first time ever soon, I'm coming close and I am getting incredibly emotional over the thought of finishing it and saying goodbye even though I can play it again. I wholeheartedly agree this trilogy is the best series ever made in gaming history and I hope the new games live up to the trilogy

Just proves that you never really get over someone like Liara. Just when you think It's finally over, those same feelings, of despair and desolation, of a sundered heart, all resurface. You don't know what to do with yourself, the emotions insurmountable, you finally give in and let them overtake you. You eventually break down into tears, unable to do anything except mourn that which you loved. Liara might've just been a video game character but she will always hold a special place in my heart. The feelings I have developed for her will likely never go away. She will forever remain my one true love, my bondmate.

I'll never forget the first time I finished the trilogy. Never before has a game made me feel so much emotional attachment to the storyline, characters and OSTs. It's the only game that's brought me to tears at pinnacle moments. Even now I feel the tears swelling from listening to this.

I wish I could forget ME trilogy, just to play it again and again without already knowing what'll happen next.

wt4629 The difference is that I love the ending in its current state and I feel sorry for those who don't. No offence but out of what I've heard and seen from the other people only hate on the ending because of how it looks not what it represents. Mass effect has always been about it's story so why do people complain about the colors. In a book an ending like this would never be hated in the same way because people can visualize it themselves. And complaining on plotholes is just dumb, there are plotholes in every game, movie and series that exist, maybe not EVERY but almost. And the extended ending removed many of the plotholes. From a story perspective the ending is really good. Now ofcourse this is just my opinion.

Just finished the saga, again, through the Legendary Edition, what a ride, feels like the first time...

Mass Effect is truly one of those games designed to be replayable. Ill never regret a playthrough and every experience is memorable. Its one of those special series where the developers really really cared and gave it their all even when the corpos threw bullshit demands at them.

I hope we all find real life equivalents to our Mass Effect loves someday... Someday soon I hope. See you soon Tali'Zorah :') I can't wait to meet you! Kelah' selai.

I remember it vividly. In a very bad life situation, with an old rusty PC. I found this odd game that was not popular at all and just installed it to see if my system can handle it. After that I lost count of how many times I got goose bumps and how many times I cried and how many times I lost touch with what is real and what is not. I wondered about it for a long time why until I got the last piece of the game and in the end got the dev mail on a pad and I knew for sure that every single person working on this has put their heart on it and it was a work of passion and emtion and love. Let's not be stupid. love or whatever that thing inside of us IS does really conqure all. I have lived, breathed and died in that universe. I fell in love with my special someone and my friends. I fought even though the higher thinking of the machines were not totally about A is bad B is good but I dont want to get into the philosophical aspects of the lore. But They take it away from us. EA, took it away from all of us. I really want them back. I miss them from the moment I lost them and will keep on missing them. Joker, EDI, Liara, Ash, Jacob, Tali, Wrex, Anderson, Hackett, damn it all of them. Hat's off to all who were involved in this game and Casey Hudson whom I believe has a huge heart.

can't tell you how much this entire series means to me, my tears a flowing :( these games and score are so well crafted. I know that this is merely just a video game to most but for me, it's so much more. I swear to you that this game and my relation to it has helped me through depression. whenever I was down, I would just flip on the game and be transported to another world. a place where I actually mattered and my decisions actually hold any type of weight. these games make me happy, and for that, I thank you BIOWARE, I thank you very much for helping me find my light in the darkness

It's so bad most recent games don't have such a deep narrative like this trilogy...only Cyberpunk was close to this.

Liara is by far the best romance in the whole trilogy. She is the only one available for romance in all 3 games, one of the only ones whose life doesn't depend on your patience for mineral scanning. Added to that, she cares about you the most, as she is the only one that doesn't just move on after your death, instead giving your body to Cerberus, regardless whether you romanced her or not. I'll miss you Liara :/

This masterpiece will never get old. We will always live it in our hearts, everytime we play and live this journey.

No game has ever made me dream to be able to explore the stars like Mass Effect has. Listening to this makes me want to quit my job, leave everything behind and see what is out there. Unfortunately that will never come to fruition in my lifetime, and I think thats what make's me even more sad.

That time capsule scene did more to cement the whole feel of ME3 than any other moment in the game. People coming together to face an existential threat, or to accept their fate and preserve a future. Gets me every time.

Yeah, hoping for the best and still planning for the worst. They know they could lose and be wiped out like so many races before... Also gets me every time. Fantastic writing from the Bioware team.

@@infiernorojiblanco3809 Miranda's is awesome, like something out of a spy or noir movie. But Liara's still top for me. Mass Effect does nerdy introverts so well. It's why I really like Garrus too.

I have a soft spot for Liara, but I honestly find it difficult to really rank the companions outside of three categories - Great (Liara, Garrus, Tali, Miranda, Thane - you know, the awesome ones), Meh (James and Traynor and the other minor characters), and the third category is Jacob. Seriously, screw that cheating asshat.

I don't care what anyone says, IMO, Liara will always be the canon romance. The way they crafted the story of Shepard and Liara throughout the three games was so well done. Thanks to the happy ending mod, Liara and Shepard are hanging out on some remote planet in the Cosmos somewhere with a few blue kids and nothing but time.

I almost always romance Ashley. Did Jack once and underneath that tough exterior is a really caring woman, and It was a great romance.

Liara best romance ever in the series and also in the comics as well she is the only person in the comic determined to find shepard's body unlike the others who lived on with their lives and when she found shep's body she had to make a tough choice of giving it to cerberus or not but eventually she did gave shep to cerberus even dough it hurt her so much that's why she became a broker to keep track on shepard if cerberus is trying to do anything funny also is some people said that she is pregnant with shepard's kid when she gave u that gift in mass effect 3

hell_yeah017 IDK, does she do it when you just friend her, I have yet to finish with a different love interest due to Miranda not being a shipmate, I hate Ash, and Tali is not a biological match, she was just a teen at the beginning, puppy love, people need to get over it, Liara was too but proved to be much more.

Maples01 You mean the gift ? well in my game she did gave me a gift because in my game i have no romances during mass effect 1 up to ME3 and when the final days of shepard in ME3 liara approached me and said to close my eyes and then this empty space surrounding the two of us, as we stand closer to each other and saw this white light in the distance my shep and liara actually kiss and i guess that is what liara is talking about during ME1 the one called "mind meld" because that is how they reproduce and to be together with their partner forever even when they past away those memories will still be with them forever

OK, I had one without romancing her, I couldn't help myself but make a pass at her on the citadel while leaning on the railing, starting the relationship.

After 4 years im still in love with this game and Liara. At 0:40 my heart just stops and I begin to cry inside... Bioware unfortunately knows how to play with feelings.

Am i the only one who thinks that whenever Liara smiles it looks like she was sad only a moment before, and that her world was then filled with just enough sunlight to dispel the darkness? She looks not only happy, but almost grateful. It's beautiful. I think this song encapsulates that, and perhaps the softer aspects of the trilogy as a whole; haunting and melancholy, but ultimately sweet and tender. And hopeful...
