Mass Comparison | How Heavy is the Universe?
Ғылым және технология
Hey everyone! This channel is usually size comparisons but I thought it might be interesting to do a mass comparison of the Universe. This video is also the first I've rendered in realtime, so let me know what you think!

You need to find a way to update the labels. You cant really see what they say on a phone.
If you calculate the Schwarzschild radii of all the mass in the observable Universe... it turns out to be 13.7 billion light years. Coincidence? For comparison, the diameter of a black hole with the mass of the Sun is approximately 6.8km.
Можно просто О-БА-Л-ДЕТЬ
U thought R136a1 was somewhere around 300 solar mass as stated on universe sandbox
Nassim Haramein posited that the mass of the universe is equal to the mass of an undisturbed proton.
73 Sextillion?
Bold of you to assume I can measure the weight of the moon alone.
why are earth and venus different moons amount when they are same size
I'm not trying to be a smart ass but Wikipedia says "The universe's size is unknown." So assuming Wikipedia is correct how can you possibly know how much it weighs?
1:14 why is UY Scuti there? Its the biggest star in the milky way
@yodaas7902
2 ай бұрын
Biggest≠heaviest
UY Scuti is one of the largest star and still only 8 times heavier. A star needs to be at least 20 sm to become a black hole
@Harry Evett Do your math correctly. Uy scuti is billions times bigger than our sun, Take uy scutis volume divided by our suns volume. then you see how many suns are needed to get uy scuti's size And if you say i'm wrong, why on earth would you take mass as a reference point instead of volume?
@AlexEvett55
6 ай бұрын
It's a mass comparison. while UY Scuti may be billions of times more voluminous than the Sun, that is irrelevant for a video about mass.
@scottwarren4998

@@AlexEvett55 Nobody uses mass for size-comparison. it is not likely in any video to compare it in that way.
@LucasFerreira-gx9yh
4 ай бұрын
@@scottwarren4998 mass is the most important property for a star, it's literally how much stuff is inside it and tells how the star will evolve and bahave for the most part Also the point of the video is to compare mass , if nobody does it then it only makes the point stronger! i would say mass is more important than size, a neutron star is much smaller than even big asteroids but if one came close to the solar system it would wreak havoc, it could easily destroy jupiter in seconds
@scottwarren4998

@@LucasFerreira-gx9yh well... but uy scuti is billions times bigger than our sun. if it just is a few thousand's bigger, it should be caslled the 2nd largest star ever found.

@@scottwarren4998 UY scuti is possibly no longer the biggest in radius, new estimates put it aroud 755 times the radius of the sun or 430 million times the volume

According to cosmic inflation theory Diameter of entire universe 294.18 Billion googol light years Mass infinity solar mass

You should have used scientific notation and provided the common names for those numbers. The observable universe is 73 sextillion solar masses. That’s ~1.45e+52 kg.

Looks familiar...
The biggest thing is the background its larger than universe
👍
So times that by 10 say & that's the total of the whole universe as in the other 90% we cant see,the unobserved universe give or take a few trillion moon's masses!

천왕성의 질량:지구의 14.5배(Uranus' mass:14.5 times Earth's)
Seems the last block is just the mass of a quasi star... 🤔🤔
Well, that escalated fast... And that question, "How heavy is the Universe" makes no sense, we can know the mass but heavy, that depends on something else... It is a meaningless question. It is as if there is no other liquid except water, and to ask how liquid is water...Compared to what?
@AlexEvett55
Жыл бұрын
Weight is mass x gravity, and the universe has plenty of both. Besides, 'how heavy is the universe' is a lot more likely to be quickly understood by most people than 'how massive is the universe' because mass and size are often confused.
@ozymandiasultor9480
