She showed no anger in this performance btw but first she is kind of showing mockery to the bride like she was nothing compare to her then she showed anxiety and fear of losing the groom, then she had embarrassment after a slap and there is no joy after in the last performance time there was just sadness guilt but joy was in the early seconds

No wonder that 99 takes were taken for the last one take shot of Richa Chaddha that produced such a masterpiece ! She is truly a fine actor full of emotions ❤ Though her character was small but indeed impactful !

Perhaps this is the best song in the entire webseries "Heera Mandi" and The Singer Shikha Joshi has sung it soooooo beautifully... I'm just speechless... But the saddest part is just because Shreya Ghoshal is already popular, so her name has been mentioned everywhere in the header of the song chaudhvi shab along with the name Sanjay Leela bhanshali but Shikha Joshi's name is not mentioned in the header, Wow what a hypocrite!!! Richa has shown the humiliation, the heartbreak , the nervous breakdown , to perfection in every dance step ....I am in tears and get goose bumps everytime I hear and see this song ....kudos to the singer too

When I first saw this song/scene/narrative of Heeramandi my heart sank.I could feel it drop to the pit of my stomach where the trauma of my own experience similar to this was gathered. Unrequited love, being misunderstood and judged, being insulted, being discarded and rejected, being delusional with my expectations from that particular person, being filled to the brim with that deadly depression which gnaws at your insides and makes you ill, and then having to dance/sing/ perform despite, all of this is uncannily familiar to me. When Lajjo started her mujra singing those innocent lines of a broken heart looking at the bride of the man she loves, I thought, "Ah..this is the new Channa Mereya!" Don't I feel how! How she romanticized and delusionized her unrequited romance in order to survive life's heartbreak, and how she literally drank herself to death in memory of her own joyful delusional surrender, ah don't I know how! And most of all, how she danced that completion of her mujra even after getting slapped and publicly insulted by the man she loves, with that aching heart and painful expressions, sobbing and yet trying to retain balance and decorum in her moves,. Ah don't I know how! Her performance in "Masoom dil hai mera" was a perfect blend of "Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya" and "Maar Daala". The only two characters I can imagine could relate to her pain could be Chandramukhi and Anarkali. Her sarcastic giggle when her foster mother ordered her to look at the man she loves for one last time, and how she drifted past him without a single look and left the hall, how she winced and grasped her chest as she drank and breathed her last, are all-too-familiar. Ah those moments! Lajjo opened my eyes and reminded me of how much I loved..and still love. In order to survive life and become like a Mallikajaan perhaps, ah what do we need to leave, what do we need to retain! Thank you Richa Chadda for breathing life into Lajjo, and to the entire Heeramandi team for creating her! May we all heal from heartbreak! Richa Chadha stole the show with her beautiful, haunting rendition of the tragic Lajjo. To be able to emote the delusion, humiliation, heartbreak and addiction while performing a mujra with such conviction is a wonderful thing. Her little laugh at the end before she leaves just breaks my heart.

Lajjo is heavily intoxicated in this scene and it’s clear she has mental issues, so her balance and coordination being off makes sense here because the show makes it clear that she had been deteriorating for a while. The clumsiness was perfectly executed by the actress.

That 99 takes was worth it 👐for that last take she gives her 100% in this song👏

In only 2 episodes, Richa Chadha left an indelible mark in Heeramandi. At 3:02, how poignantly she expressed her complete breakdown while pulling off Kathak moves as if they were second-nature to her. That 1-take 360° shot is a highlight that SLB can achieve teaming with the right actor. Haven’t seen the likes of Masoom Dil and Phool Gendwa in YEARS. Thought we lost this art of expression after Devdas/Guzaarish but Richa and Aditi kept it alive in Heeramandi.

honestly in the entire series I actually loved her acting the most, for someone who has done mostly strong female characters, Richa played this helpless & heartbroken character so well! I kept coming back to this episode.

Fantastic moment when camera rolls on the "Hai aaap bade naam wale" , long hairs, expressions, tears, pain, love and at the same time understanding of he is not gonna be her's still one last attempt of portrayal of love and feelings. 🎉🎉 . 99 takes . Totally worth it! Richa kudos to your hardwork and efforts. ❤ 😊

I think I liked her the most among all the veteran actors .. her mujra performance tops all the performances I have seen in the movie .. she was flawless, made me cry and truly emoted the feelings of a heart broken girl..❤

Expressing the pain one has in their heart without saying much is something Richa can flawlessly portray through her expressions and temperament, something which I first observed in the movie Masaan where she played the role of Devi. But that single take shot where even though Lajjo has to perform her dance despite in a state of total devastation and suffering is something she did with sheer brilliance. Hats off to SLB for coming up with the idea of that, the crew with an outstanding cinematography and lastly Richa Chadha for carrying it out with complete perfection.

She definitely delivered a power packed performance as Lajjo! And this is the only dance where I felt that the dancer looked like she has trained in mujra … the movements, chakkars and hands- all are very natural. And her expressions! Myriad and subtle!

Richa is sooo sooo good here.. uff this is masterclass in acting and dancing.. ppl compliment Madhuri's dancing all the time but in a movie/series, dancing needs to be a part of acting and not just a dance piece on its own. Richa has danced in this song with impeccable acting.. and kudos to sanjay for merging the story in almost all the songs in heeramandi so well, especially massom dil hai mera. Shikha has sung it really well

"Melancholic & Hopeless, Yet Best from the Show" ❤️💚✨️ This incredible dance sequence in episode 2 is my favorite mujra from the entire show; this gorgeously harrowing song "masoom dil hai mera" achingly delights, and the lyrics truly express the dilemma of Lajjo (it touches hard).❤️✨️ Richa Chadda gave such an evocative and terrific performance in that single sequence that it became the show's highlight. Her character's pain of betrayal and heartbreak is illustrated by her adakari and expressions, especially her eyes like vo gulab ke phool phekna, poignant gaze, and synchronization of dance steps, especially in the wide frames. That single-round spinning shot in the end was fabulous and these green-classy vintage aesthetics and cinematography assists to convey the state of her heart. ❤️💚✨️ The 99 retakes were worth, indeed!! 🔥
