Masonic Mechanical ring

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video follows the creation of a mechanical ring here in the Object Maker jewellery studio. Don't try any of this stuff unless you are trained, because its easy to hurt yourself.
But if you are trained, I would love to see you try and do something like this and share it with me.

if the spring steel is meant to be a handcuff shim, you may want to consider a split tab at the end to accommodate split pawl cuffs.

Interesting, I got the feeling it's not a lockpick, but just a little blade for rope and such. Great idea though!

also wondering that. would be neat to modify it into it into some form of multitool like that of a swiss-army knife.

Great work! Amazing ring! How do you lay out the plan for something as complex as this? -I mean you have to be very specific what bits to solder first and last to not melt the previous solder right? I know a little about silversmithing and the way one bends the soldering rods ends depending on the melting temp, I assume you do the same over there as we do here in Sweden and that gives only four distinctions but it seems in your video that you might need more? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Joel, it's a goal to minimise solder where there are moving parts. So you will notice 2 primary moving components in the top plate are riveted or soldiered. This allows for easy repair work, and also reduces the risk of solder fusing moving parts. This one was a bit of trial and error, but it was all on paper first.

It's to hide poison. Most of medieval rings was made with empty gold or silver to hide the dust of ☠.
