    @hercovintage sounds like a winning formula. Hold for ransom all those that you don't agree with or else. It sounds like you're just throwing stuff at the wall with no investigation of what's true of false and just seeing what sticks or re-telling what you read on the internet. Mason has and continues to address any of his shortcomings in a transparent way and for a lot of these accusations you're hurling, he's been culpable for that over seven years ago, admitted his faults and accepted the consequences. I think a lot of people could learn from being humbled like that and actually do what they say they're going to do.

    @hercovintage wow! You must be Jesus Christ himself. Listing another man's moral inventory without any mention of your own transgression. It's frustrating to see someone that actually doing the right thing and delivering on what they said, to have folks like you want to watch them burn. I've now own some Vertex pedals, and can tell you that they're rock solid, sound great, and are well built. But, moreover, I love the content that Mason and Vertex put out - it's actually the most helpful among any pedal, amp, or guitar builder out there. I think he's only rivaled by Josh Scott JHS, Brian Wampler, and TheGigRig in this regard - manufacturers putting out more content to improve user experience of other brand's gear over their own and actually creating more educated customers. I too have followed the events that transpired since 2014 with Vertex and you're retelling things here which are fundamentally wrong. First, prison? Give me a break. If selling a Wah pedal - no matter the context is a prison sentence, then you better ditch your bank and stash your savings in a safe. If the CEO of JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, or fill in the blank bank is able to walk the streets free with all the lives they've ruined, then put your money where your mouth is. LA Sound - he claims that Mason used a pedalboard of his in a website photo. I don't know as I've not seen hims how any evidence of that other than saying it, which the burden of proof is on LASD to substantiate. But let's just say he's right...did Dave build all the pedalboards for Mason and Mason took credit for it? Absolutely not. Mason was building these pedalboards for Landau, Scott Henderson, Josh Smith, etc. Dave is trying to correlate that Mason sharing a photo of a rig as his own somehow means that Dave is now the person that built all these celebrity rigs? Sounds fishy. What I read this as is Dave's way to kick a competitor when he's down. Dave had years to say things about Vertex if this was the fact, yet we only hear about it when Mason/Vertex are being flogged in the public square. It reads to me like Dave was irritated that someone 20 years Mason's senior was working with his idols like Landau and Henderson. You're right, Joe didn't like his Vertex rig, however, again it seemed like a dog pile on Mason as that rig Mason had shared out 6-8 months before the Wah thing happened and Joe made that statement about the rig. It seemed like it was a dispute about being billed more than anything. If Joe didn't like it, why not resolve it with Mason and tell him instead of the internet 8 months later? I've never see any other artist, Landau included, ever say the work was bad. Many of these big time guys like Robben Ford, Landau, and Josh Smith all had several Vertex rigs over a 5-6 year period. If he was so bad, why keep coming back to him? #3 I've talked to Paul several times about the Vertex Fuzz because I wanted one. He and Mason designed that - there's no issue there. Paul and Mason did that as a joint venture product. Why would you assert something like this that is clearly false? Why lie to prove that Mason lied? Why not spend the time you spend thinking about Mason on your personal growth? Are the enlightened people of the world really spending their time calling out others on the internet?

    Gotta love a pedal-builder’s board, you know he chooses these pedals carefully. When Mason described the tonality of the Ultra-Phonix as having that certain darkness to the overdrive, being somewhat similar to the ts10 but not quite the same, and when he played it it was exactly as he had described it. Someone like him who listens to these sounds under a microscope all the time really has the vocabulary to describe what’s going on accurately.

    Why do you need an input buffer when the Vertex Boost is also a buffer? (So are the Archer and the TS-10) And the fact that it's only one pedal away from the interface...

  • @VertexEffectsInc

    @VertexEffectsInc

    3 жыл бұрын

    Ideally you should always have an input and output buffer so you can 1) control your pickup loading 2) converted the input signal to low impedance (preferably around 100 ohms) and 3) have an output buffer so you don't rely on any pedal to drive the line back to the amplifier - most pedals don't have output impedances better than 1K which is a poor spec for driving a lot of capacitance on the output of a pedal with stability. I may have been able to get away with using the Boost as my input buffer since it has a 1M input impedance and 80 ohm output impedance, but if I swapped it for another pedal, like our HRM or Compressor - They're both true bypass, and the Klon buffer is no prize and nowhere near the quality of the buffer we'd use on the input of the rig, or the Vertex Boost. If you're using high quality buffers having the input buffer in series with the Boost or Archer 2-3 pedals in won't have a negative influence. By using an input and output buffer you have a hardware firewall that isolates the impedance of the pedalboard and the changes in impedance from pedal to pedal from the guitar and amplifier. This way you can change things on the pedalboard without any consequence and you have limited your variables considerably.

    @Rafi, do you know what actually happened? This is about the most uncharitable and lazy retelling of what actually happened. First off, he's not selling his own pedals here. It's about "What's On Your Pedalboard". 90% of the pedals talked about have ZERO to do with Vertex. Secondly, what happened with the Axis Wah happened 6 or 8 years ago. There was no pedal in question before that time or after that in terms of the validity or authenticity, so why misrepresent this as some sort of pathology when it was one pedal? Beyond that, every person that owned the product got a full refund - I don't see anywhere people claiming otherwise. Please name for me another CEO that faced the music and made people whole again 100% whilst in the midst of a public flogging as Mason did. Did Nike make families whole again whose children served as child labor to make training shoes? Did Apple make whole again the loved ones of those that committed suicided due to the working conditions they put employee's under in their iPhone factory in China? What about Toyota and the break failure scandal? VW and the emissions scandal? Are you coming after them just the same and boycotting their products publicly? Most people seeking restitution from any of these corporations are entangled in the cobwebs of the legal system for years and never get reconciliation. I think Mason resolved this with customers within 12 months. Why does the guy that makes guitar pedals get held to a different standard of morality that the guy that makes the shoes in your closet, or the phone in you pocket, the laptop in your satchel, or the car in your garage?

  • @VertexEffectsInc

    @VertexEffectsInc

    3 жыл бұрын

    Rafi, may or may not be aware, but every customer and dealership that ever owned an Axis Wah was provided a full refund, rebate, or exchange according to their desired restitution over six years ago. In fact, we still leave the door open to any owner of the product that was previously unaware of refund options and keep a public record of all Axis Wah refunds on our website for anyone to view since 2014: www.vertexeffects.com/redemption . The Axis Wah is not representative of our company values and the products we make. We've worked tirelessly to make a new impression and continue to maintain a high standard of quality and customer service with transparency around each product and its origins. All we can do is release the best sounding products possible and give our customers the best possible quality and support in hopes that with time we'll earn back their trust.
