    James the recessive gene for Em is “E” “E/E” with no mask nor cream is a maskless dog. And also mask is a dominant gene which you mentioned so that means with one copy of the mask it will show visually. But that’s not the case with maskless “E/E” animal genetics which I know you use Frequently doesn’t show a lower case “em” like you stated in this video. Sorry to correct you just want to make sure we’re on the same page. Much love from miami would love to meet you guys one day 🙏🏼 I use most of your products and have been listening and watching your videos since 2017”! Thank you for all the knowledge

    I was about to ask that. My dog is E/e for one copy of cream and separated for melanistic mask he is E/E as in maskless. My question is can a dog be maskless with just one E? Or the combinations need to be Em/E, Em/Em, E/E?

    This is a very informative channel, love your content. I have a dog that is maskless with EmE. I might get a 2nd test to make sure.

    If your dog is EmE and it’s correct then it carries one copy of mask.

    Also James! I love this topic cause me and my friend have been talking about it. We suspect that the E locus is like the A locus. You can’t have a cream dog “e/e” and also have a copy or two of mask “Em” I have never seen a dog with both. I would love to hear your take on this 🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Great video James, I didn't know about the the creams not being able to have mask, so weird. Might be because creams don't hold pigment 🤷

    Hi James , I have a English bulldog I produced off a recent litter he is 5 months old . I just tested with embark he is EE,kyky,atat,dd,bb,mm. but here is where I am questioning ..his intensity Loci is showing dilute red pigmentation stating any hair likely white or cream . Have you heard of the intensity gene playing a role with English Bulldogs ? His tan points are extremely light colored compared to our other dogs

    So if you have a cream quad carrier, you will only get cream then? If I was to take a cream quad carrier and breed it with a blue or modern rojo, I would only get cream??

    We have a 6 wk old male and thought we had a swimmer pup but have had no success with taping legs. Vet says valgus deformity of right hip which actually makes sense and why we've been unsuccessful. the right hind leg wants to go straight out to the side with no joint stability. Have you had any success treating this? He's a happy pup and in no distress so im willing to invest some time in him and see that he goes to an appropriate home but I also have concerns that from an orthopedic view he'll never have a clean health certificate. What are your thoughts on this?

    Thank you for always giving us knowledge on the breed! I’d like to ask what is Ay/a. Fawn? My friend got a dog that is aya Bb dd that’s a Merle. Blue fawn Merle. And is it true that all fawn would carry a copy of cream(e)? Thank you in advance.

    Ay = fawn and fawn is a domiant gene in its own locus. Which means if you have a dog that’s ay/a or ay/at us a fawn dog that Carrie’s solid or tan points. The A locus will express dependent on the K locus. Which is brindle. If brindle is present the A locus will not express in the coat.

    Just had a litter of all bridles between a brindle and a cream dog. Does that mean the cream dog is actually brindle covered in cream?

  • @DCbuildz

    @DCbuildz

    Brindle is a dominant gene you only need one parent to have a copy to pass it down to the pups and be visual. My guess here is that the brindle parent is a double brindle or it’s possible the cream parent is also brindle.

    @3:40 I don't see these prices from Animal Genetics and that's who I use for my tests. I test for coat color, coat type, and disorders and that's $195/dog. Also, they don't report E and EM separately, so are those tests combined in the results on the Genetic Testing Reports?
