The Jason Kelcee scenario you brought up brings up an interesting point. A married man walks around all day with a pistol to his head especially one who is successful. At any time, his wife can pull the trigger fire, a silver bullet, and he will lose half his wealth and substantial access to his children, if she’s really good, he could lose them all together. I have to wonder if some married men have trouble maintaining frame because they are afraid of that gun to their head.

Agreed tho the man will only have that gun to his head if he loses frame somewhere along the line. Flip side he never really loses frame, she remains following his lead. Jason's wife simply wldn't even think to be openly challenging him

The gym example is great. But what if the request is minor. Do you hold frame over everything, or compromise when it is not that important or a core value issue?

The basic principle is whether or not the thing in question is objectively good for you & how or why does it affect her. Changing the gym schedule - an objective good - cuz it's inconvenient for her - is a man making a fruitless sacrifice. If she wants to go workout with him but just can't do that early, then that wld be a legit reason to consider changing his schedule.
