Top fave is the Essie Gel Couture topcoat (not UV gel). It’s thick, glossy, quick dry and durable. My fave peel off base is by Bow Polish. I like the ridge filing base by Ella+Mila but I don’t like that it can take a while to dry if it’s too thick. I am currently on the look out for a better base.

@@MoonlitandPolished Thanks! I tried the essie gel couture and it’s one of my favorites as well. Only down side is that it gets gloopy pretty fast. But it’s pretty unmatched when it comes to glossiness.

@@mikaelag88 It does! I use the nail lacquer thinner by Opi to keep it at the right consistency when that happens. It’s a quick dry polish so it starts to dry every time we open the bottle. It’s $10 at ulta and lasts a long time.

Always love your swatches! Also I appreciate your honest review of the base and top coat. I ended up not liking both of them too. I had to double up on base coats with it, and then the top coat that got too thick and not usable after I got half way through the bottle... definitely better ones out there!

I thought it was just me! A few people I talked to all liked them. There are much better for sure and some under $12.

What do you recommend for base & top coat??

Nice review! The base coat on my last two manicures have lasted me up to a week so I find it crazy it barely lasted you until the next day! Although my nail beds are probably dehydrated lol. The top coat gives me bubbles and pulls at my nail polish underneath. Its not as thick as I'd like either and doesn't self level the way I'm used to like most fast drying topcoats have for me.

A lot of people really liked it. I wonder if maybe it’s a batch problem? 🤔 it would be weird but I’ve heard of it happening. I don’t want to miss out on a good base coat just because I’m too well hydrated 😩😂

I don't like their top coat or base too. My favorite is orly bonder and top coat from them.
