Love this video! My mom was born and raised in MD and we moved to Texas when I was 11, so I started life learning how to catch, cook, and clean and eat crabs. We didn’t have a boat or the fancy gear y’all used, just a string with (usually) a piece of bologna tied to the end lol. And yes, she definitely steamed them using Old Bay seasoning. I was happy to see that the guy cleaned them the same way I was taught. Such fun going crabbing with my mom then having a “crab feast” for dinner! If there were any left, we kids cleaned and picked out the meat and she’d make crab soup for the next night’s dinner.

Great video Robert! I grew-up in western-MD and was introduced to "pickin crabs" at a very young age. We typically got together with our extended family one time during each summer and had a wonderful family day of crabs, BBQ, games, and beer. However, I've never went crabbing. This video has me promising myself that next summer will not pass without me figuring out a way to go crabbing. Thanks Robert! Also, I'm praying for you and your family, and for your continued recovery. Peace

Me, too, only I learned to pick and love blue crabs in VA, which is along the DelMarVa Peninsula. Best times of my entire young life, visiting with Mom to see her whole family. I loved those crab boils and then we'd flag down the guys in the watermelon truck to get delicious watermelons for dessert. I grew up in NJ and NJ had some delicious blue crabs, too.

When I was growing up in Fort Myers, Florida, we used to go down and fish for crabs with chicken Gizards on our hooks. When you see your fishing line that is loose ...getting tight, you reel it up slow and they don't let go. Already have your dip net in the water and net them and put them in your bucket.

Take the meat out and put it into your pasta. It's so good. Also say Lanc-is-ster. People who say Land-caster are definitely not local lol

We crabbed for the first time 2 weeks ago. My oldest granddaughter stayed in the cabin that we rented. We caught 1 whole crab that was big enough that first day. We were in a campground off their docks that had a LOT of babies. My granddaughter told us that we needed to take that crab straight back cause he's our friend!!! I cooked him up to let everyone in my family get a bit of a taste, since they'd never had them. The next night, we caught 5. She caught the 1st one and the biggest. I asked her if she wanted to throw it back (like that would have happened, LOL), and she said, NO, I caught him and we're going to eat him!!!! What a difference a day makes, LOL.The last day of our trip, we bought a bushel, lol. We all LOVED crabbing and it will become a part of our lives going forward.

Great video as usual! I love my Breeo as well! Picked it up in 2020 and have loved using it ever since. I was so glad when i found them because i was looking for a made in the USA product and saw their popular competitor was made in China! It was an easy choice to buy my Breeo and would highly recommend it to anyone! Buy made in the USA!

This is why Maryland loves Lacrosse cause you can scoop crabs, lol! Crab Imperial or Flounder stuffed with crab imperial is another sweet dish! Great video gentlemen and representing Maryland and those back roads up through to PA! I am out of Hampstead/Hereford (The HZ). Trust me you are considered a friend if you are invited to a crab feast!

💯🎯 agree with Robert.. got to clean them before they are cooked. In NJ we clean steam or boil then garlic olive oil S&P “ garlic crabs” . We also use drop lines with a chicken thigh. They are cleaned alive in the dock. Also Old Bay overwhelms the crab flavor IMO.

Yeah.. I agree you either have to go big on the Old Bay or leave it out, That's why I go with Zatarain's and really ease up on it, love the G&EVO S&P I also throw in some shallots.

@@777Dorado I like the leftovers the next day. Just need to let the EVO liquify a bit after they come out of the fridge. But we I do not eat the waste inside ever. That goes down the drain on tbd dock it all gets cleaned off. Then enjoy

I grew up in Florida and live in Maryland now. I have 1200ft of frontline for my boat. Had no clue what they even were when I moved here 7 years ago but I’m learning how to use them more every year lol.

Now that is proper seasoning. Looked quite tasty. I'll always go with steamed shellfish. I always leave the corn unshucked.

The Susquehanna River runs right through my community. I can even hear jet boats on that joker during the summer.
