Aqua Land was planned by the Conner brothers to be a gambling destination with the nearby community of Cliffton augmenting its status as a resort. These plans never really got off the ground and when Maryland began to curtail the slot machine trade in 1963, this spelled the end of their grand plans. The marina that the Conners built still exists to this day.

My 7 times great grandfather was the 3rd Colonial Governor of Maryland 1649-1655. My 5 times great uncle, Thomas Stone, signed the Declaration Of Independence. His estate is in Port Tobacco...

The narrator tried to present a theory about the Civil War when discussing the battlefield at Antietam, near Sharpsburg. He said that the British might've joined it Lee won "decisively" on that day. There was no chance that Lee was going to win "decisively" at Antietam. The battle was a bloody stalemate. Even if he did actually win, he would still lose Stonewall Jackson and Gettysburg. Robert E. Lee was really successful in the South, but when he no longer knew the terrain, no longer could rely on locals for intelligence, his supposed mighty command of all battlefields no longer had its victories that he enjoyed on home terrain. I also think that it would be inadvisable for Great Britain to ruin their trade relationships with the USA just to save the cotton trade. The North was so much more wealthy and industrious than the South. This is not a matter of opinion. It would not make a lot of sense for Great Britain to help the Confederate States of America keep their slaves, when Great Britain abolished slavery themselves 30 years prior without firing a single shot.

This was probably filmed in the early to mid 60's. Not long afterwards the country started going into the toiled and it is still there.

I'm glad to see that Maryland's beauty was preserved on film before the (D)escipables (D)estroyed it to create Marylandistan.
