tbh i don't agree with calling her a "villain." If by "villain" you mean that she killed about 280 people, it would mean that a significant number of rulers should also be called that way. At that time, how many people Mary killed was nothing spectacular, and all the "outrage" actually appeared after her death, due to Protestant propaganda. furthermore, although Mary was in fact a victim, she always had a good and kind heart. In my opinion, she was a good person until the end of her life :))

@@vibeofaragon And many rulers were villains. Not good people. People call Henry villain for killing 2 wifes (majority doesn't know the other killings) and don't make these "well other rulers killed too" excuse. And that's "just two". Same with others who did these murders and forced faith. Inquisition was definitely not good, doesn't matter on the numbers. Diminishing horrible acts because "well the numbers were low" ain't it. People are so biased because of her mother, Catherine (Catherine's mother was way worse when it came to faith). You can like a character, but diminishing horrible acts "well it wasn't that much" and thinking it was a good person until the end is disrespectful to victims of faith hunts and sounds like delusional cope.

@@JustAChinesePleb please don't try to lecture me, we know perfectly well that nowadays killing a person for any reason is actually wrong, but in those times there was a different mentality!!! what's more, Mary gave these people a choice and it was actually because of fear of conspiracies that she had to do what she did. Was it good? absolutely not, but that doesn't mean she was a ruthless villain. Mary did what her conscience told her all her life, she was a good person. Seriously, educate yourself about her before you start shining here with the most famous fact about her.💋

Fantastic. Romina Garay not being allowed to portray Mary as she comes to the throne and her struggles thereafter are a crime.

Catherine would've been heartbroken by the queen Mary became.

I'm sure Catherine would have been proud, because what kind of queen was Mary? one who fought for her own place and did not give up after YEARS of persecution, who proved that a woman can actually rule, who cared about the goods of her subjects and traditional values, who began to work to improve the economy? yes, she also made mistakes, but compared to the good things she did, calling her a monster and belittling her value as a ruler is unfair and ignorant.

maybe she didn't have a husband who loved her, and after her death there was propaganda from Protestants who didn't love her either, but she was really loved and admired by many Catholic subjects and ofc her mother ♥️

No one reigns without being loved, especially being a woman and catholic in those times. She had a court and many admirers, her spanish relatives and catholic subjects admired her greatly and had her back.

What do you mean by that? First of all, Mary was incredibly loved by her mother and (for a time) by her father, she had many devoted friends who never left her and she was loved by her subjects (not all of them, but still). Maybe she didn't find true love in marriage and had a hard life, but I think saying that no one loved her is quite cruel and not true.
