She was in Francis’ court most of her childhood (clinical marriage, no real affection), returned to Scotland in her teens, married Darnley whom she ACTUALLY loved, married Bothwell after his death, and was exiled from Scotland for her suspected role in Darnley’s murder (among MANY other blunders) Elizabeth was content to let her stay under house arrest forever, but she was found with incriminating letters in her possession which implicated her in the assassination plot against Elizabeth. Thus, she was executed The rape subplot in the show comes from speculation about a time when she and Bothwell disappeared together while under suspicion for murder. She came back pregnant, so people question whether Bothwell raped her or they just had sex. There’s ample evidence to support both sides of the argument.

It’s so hard to stay watching it tho it gets boring but it’s so good!!!!

It's heartbreaking how familiar Catherine is with Mary's pain. How she knows how to handle it, and knows Mary doesn't want to be touched. They may fight viciously but Catherine had experienced that same pain.

Her grief was so raw; those screams just went right through me; I'd been teary but then the waterworks really kicked in!

Who can survive what she has and still keep going. She lost her mother, her baby, her crown, her head and the love of her life.

And her father when she was young and I guess maybe her brother as he had to be sent away but that can be debated. She also lost so many of her friends and when she was in France the ones who were loyal to her father and then saw how much she cared about Scotland they were loyal to her but killed soon after

Aside from the usual Mary and Francis thing and whatnot, the thing I loved most in the show was when Catherine helped Mary and when they moved together side by side, helping each other, protecting each other. It was in that moment that I believed that no force could ever stop these two if they stayed by each other. Mary and Catherine are a force to recon with.

I hate how some people has, dislike this series. Without or without, Francis. It's perfect. It's a perfect completely understandably.

I named one of my very regal roosters Bash for Sebastian in this series and when I tell people it came from the series Reign, they don't remember it. How is that possible? I am not someone who loved period pieces but that was one of the best on television, EVER. This was so powerful. Adelaide Kane is amazing.

I agree she been through so much and she was so powerful queen, also that's expected because she is in blood line with Margaret Tudor, Elizabeth of York , Elizabeth Wodville, Margaret Beaufort also the powerful woman's and some powerful Queens. But I still don't understand the "war" between Elizabeth I Tudor and Mary because together they can role the world. In that time Scotland and England together could be stronger than Spain and everyone else. Both of them has so sad and hard life, but I think people don't give attention to Elizabeth as much to Bloody Mary and Mary Stuart.
