I miss this show so much!! It was one of the first shows I ever saw. thank you Mary Poppins for making my life change forever
I loved it! Certainly they endeavored in this great musical.
I saw the show in Cleveland on July 28 and it was fantastic! There is definitely someone for everyone. Definitely the BEST tour of any show I've ever seen!
OMG I WISH I WAS IN LOVE WITH MARY POPPINS BACK WHEN THIS WAS HERE IN CHICAGO!!!!
The captions did not carry over onto this version of the video. We are in the process of captioning all of the videos on the Disney on Broadway channel. Thanks!
It was the third Disney Broadway show after Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. It's based on an opera about a Nubian princess who is forced into slavery. She falls in love with the Egyptian prince, who is also betrothed, so when their romance is discovered, they are buried alive in a tomb. The music was done by Elton John and Tim Rice. It was an amazing show and I hope they do a revival someday.
So I saw the show like 5 days ago. Which was something like June 23 or something... I don't actually remember the dates. BUT IT WAS SO AMAZING! The little kids have these amazing voices that never falter. The Adults dance and sing without stopping and without heaving! You have to see! It really is magical!
"HOW IS SHE GONNA FLOAT"
I can't believe that Heather Headley was at the premiere! She was not only Aida in "AIDA" (in which she won the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical), but she was also first in "The Lion King" when it first opened. I personally believe she would be great as Elphaba in "Wicked".
Saw this in Chicago on Easter
Where are the captions? The original video had them yet they aren't here?
What is Disney's Aida? I've never heard of it before and I'm curious!
Figures Gavin Lee is married - all the good ones are either married or gay. But I think it's sweet he and his wife are performing together; so few married couples get to perform together in the theatre world!
