(I wrote a lot lol, sorry for the paragraphs!!) Tbh, most of it is cus I think they're cute lol! (I'm not too far into the manga, I mostly watch the anime, but their interactions make my hear melt!) Edit: Fixed some typos!! This was all written in one sitting so excuse me for any misspellings! I'm also a multishipper, so before Genya came to the anime, I shipped MuiTan. I hadn't seen much of GenMui, so I wasn't too sure. Now he's come, and I started enjoying his character much more(he's just a little guy who needs some love^`^!!), and seeing how Tanjiro has affected him in such little time is adorable lmao But another part of the reason is how both Genya and Muichirou act and change around Tanjiro :) Muichirou's eyes light up, and he looks, for lack of a better word, alive! Tanjiro is one of the few people who have made any impact on him, and, as far as I know, been able to say something memorable. In Gyokko's water vase, instead of envisioning someone who changed his life, like Ubayashiki, who he has thought of before, he hallucinates Tanjiro, and even more surprising, him saying something he has never told Muichirou. Tanjiro was the first person to come to his mind near death, not even his savior, or even Kotetsu, the person he wanted to save. Also the fact that, in Muichirous head, he can imagine Tanjirou saying those inspiring words, is incredibly touching to me. (On a lighter note, his clear favouritism during the training arc LMAO) And even though Genya and Tanjiro started off on bad terms(for Genya at least lol), you can see during the fight with Hantengu, when Genya says he wants to be the one to kill Uppermoon four, you can see the moment Genya (more or less) falls for Tanjiro's kind and trustworthy nature. And later during the fight, when Genya accepts that Tanjiro should be the one to fight Uppermoon 4 and chooses to shield him from a lethal blow. Even afterwards, he continues fighting by Tanjirou’s side for the rest of the fight as best he can. Now, in Gyomei's training(which is as far as I've gotten), see how quick he is to try to assist Tanjiro in the rock pushing trial, offering advice seemingly given directly to him by the rock pillar, maybe even something of a secret between them. How he doesn't attempt to act tough in his presence like he does originally and with others also warms me. I would add more, some stuff about Tanjirou in this situation, but I've already taken so much of your time >m Thank you for reading, and for being tolerant and respectful even if you don't personally ship it. Not many do that ^^
