What a terrific scene this is. Everyone on their mettle, every character defined. A cracking turn from the always wonderful Mr Gilder, and George starting to get above himself. And just to put the icing on the cake - this was a real family portrait being posed fir, and it still exists.

I was lucky enough to be able to see Mary and George in Germany. And I've already watched it twice. The series is great👏💯😍, as are the three main leads, especially Nicholas Galitzine🔥, who has the most development to play in the series. I hope Mary and George wins many prizes!

Turned out to be very ambitious and very incompetent, which is the worst combination. BTW I did not know that, but he's the Duke of Buckingham from Alexandre Dumas's Three Musketeers.

@@IvanIV05 Turns out George Villiers was also mentioned in the novel Red, White & Royal Blue, which starred Nicholas as Prince Henry. I guess you could say he was fated to play George, in a kind of full circle way.
