Marvin Gaye - “what’s going on + mercy mercy me” new mix 2023
Музыка
A new pair of mixes of 2 classics from Marvin. You know the original mix is a bit clouded in reverb, with not to much rhythm presence. I got the original tracks of the recording sessions and I tried (as usual) make a more modern sound mix. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!

I'm 75 and I still love Marvin Gaye!!!!!!!!!!! He was and is my most favorite singer. I still find it so hard to believe his father shot and killed him, I remember it like it was yesterday!!!!!!!

Yep. One of the saddest days. Anger and ignorance resulted in the death of a great soul. The world lost a visionary on that day. But his message is still relevant today.

@@gailsentoff4294 He killed his son, a far greater man that he, for the pettiest of reasons. If this isn’t an instant hell sentence I don’t know what is! People give weight to penance and repentance, but this father fought the charges.

Marvin Gaye had a brother that was US soldier in Vietnam¡¡In fact,he wrote this so nice song while his brother was fighting in Vietnam in the freedom's name¡¡Marvin Gaye was a visionary guy, composer and musician¡¡A real proud to all music lovers all over this so wonderful world¡¡Motown was the record company that made him famous¡¡MOTOWN¡

Barry Gordy(Motown founder/owner) didn't want to release the LP as he thought it too political & not commercially viable,a subordinate secretly gave a D.J. a single copy of the title track to & lit up & spread like wildfire yo,only after Barry got the feedback reaction did he agree to the LP release, Artists dictate what art really is,& they reflect life, the human experience, they can change or help preserve CULTURE YO!! Support your local artists ❤❤❤😊
I'm 70 years old, my name is Pabon, when I first heard Marvin Gayes songs I was listed in the Army Vietnam Era 1971-1973 man me and my black brother's party with all Marvin Gayes music at that time, fired up to the max, good times with these crazy brother's in the Army I will never forget R.I.P. Such great music. So ironic too many brothers are dying and mothers crying. That is exactly what his life turned out to be, him dying and his mother crying, mercy mercy is what he needed and never got when it counted the most. He will always be remembered for his amazing talent

I believe in the deepest part of my heart and soul that this is the medicine that the collective world who thrive on ego, live on self and outer hate, who profit from chaos, and those who have been wounded by discrimination, racism, war, and depression is in need of. This is medicine for the soul that starts that process of healing. Thank you, Marvin. R.I.P. sir.

Listen to good music like this when you think about the bad things going on in the world 🌎 😎✌️
There is absolutely no way that I can or anyone else can listen to these lyrics and not believe that he is singing about today. I'd even venture to say that where we're at during this moment in time, these songs will continue to be relevant well past my lifetime. This is as classic and timeless as it can possibly get. The song topped Detroit's Metro Times list of the 100 Greatest Detroit Songs of All Time, and in 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it the fourth-greatest song of all time; in its updated 2011 list, the song remained at that position. It is included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list, along with two other songs by the singer. It was also listed at number fourteen on VH-1's 100 Greatest Rock Songs.
