    Ms.Tiffanie.I too remember this episode of Soul Train its still one of the best ,the 2nd best was the Ojays doing USED To Be My Girl I luv them soooo much and the Gap Band n Prince n Hendrix but my lady was Ms Etta James saw her live in Nashville. That woman was a goddess.Muddy Waters,Howling Wolf,n of course THE MAN MARVIN GAYE,he was taken from us too soon. God only knows how much greater he could've been.R..I.P Marvin WE luv u man.

    I had a friend that use to go out with me. She use to love Marvin Gaye and when this song would come on in the Club, she would dance on the Dance Floor by herself. I use to have to tell her don’t do that, somebody is going to ask you to dance, she would embarrass us every time “ Got To Give It Up” would. Com e on That was her Song. Well it was mine too, but I didn’t do that. Marvin Gaye was a Cool Operator.

    Here's another fun fact. He Co Wrote "Dancing In The Street" for Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and it's one of the most covered songs in Music. The Mamas & The Papas, Van Halen & David Bowie (RIP) and Mick Jagger also covered it. Folks born in the 1990's are discovering him and they love his music.

    Yes indeed, Marvin Gaye was hired as a session drummer for Motown. Also played the drums for one of Stevie Wonders biggest hits Fingertips 1&2. The song is recorded live and Marvin is killing those drums!

    sampling is a legitimate art form, their throwaway song however is completely forgotten. It only blew up because of the nudity, like if we all lived in Saudi Arabia and porn sites weren't a thing. Thicke is nobody, Gaye is a legend.

    🎸🥁 I loved this song,they used to jammed this on KSOL FM radio in the '70's, my next door neighbor Tony, my friend's older sister & my older sister used to blast this song loud while they were stoned smoking marijuana, one time when they were jamming this song, we walked in their room & they were so stoned, baked, lit, toasted & high as a mother, the whole place was a smokey cloud hehehe.....lol🤘
