Back in the day, they called it "flipping the track". You'd take a hit song, like Thicke and Pharell did, change it just enough to avoid copyright infringement and then hopefully, take it all the way to the bank. Like Thicke and Pharell did.

In this instrumental, you can similarly hear "wooo" just like in Blurred Lines and also "hey hey hey" around the 1:04 mark... He basically took this instrumental and slightly changed it to call it his own..

Basically Robin heard this and kind of sampled it but remade it into his blurred lines but pretty much a remake of this instrumental you can even hear the 'hey hey hey'

Nobody admitted anything, Pharrel and Thicke expressed nothing but disappointment over the verdict an claimed it set a terrible precedent for the protection of musical creativity moving forward. I happen to actually BE a multi instrumentalist, and given the arrogance you spewed in your last comment about, and I quote, "musiq" with a "q" I can only assume you have never picked up an instrument in your entire life. The chord progression of these two songs are completely different, in fact the only thing they have in common is that they use a fucking cowbell.

Coming from a person with a sensitive ear those hey hey heys aren't even the same pitch, I'm pretty sure they weren't singing it in ANY musical way.

Since when did sampling are recreating classic music become a crime. This has been done for years, & will continue to happen. Its music. Your acting as Robin Thicke did anyo wrong doing. All he did was write a good song to beat that was made for him by a producer. within the song he obviously pays homage to Marvin Gaye, you can tell by the similarites. Why does it have to be considered stealing all of a sudden ?

When you don’t pay for those sampling’s. It’s called copyright infringement and has been illegal for centuries in ally types of artistic expressions from paintings to books to music to dance choreography.

Lmao...I can't believe yall are STILL arguin' over Blurred Lines. Pharell DID NOT sample Got To Give It Up. He created a similar groove using the same percussive elements but he didn't use any of the actual music. Did It occur to anyone that there's party noise ALL THROUGH GTGIU and if Pharell would have sampled it, you would have heard it immediately. Another thing, Pharell doesn't sample. Pharell and Chad do sample...All industry producers do...just about all the music we hear is recycled...you can go to whosampled.com and look up Pharell and see how much he sampled as well as the rest of Industry producers...you gone be surprised
