No watched this yet just saw it but what a legend James is given Marvin the platform to tell his story. Had the pleasure of meeting Marvin in turning point Paisley where we where both on a 6 weeks stay. Sad to say it but he wis the only boy in there a could see being clean we stuck together in there doing our meetings and always talking about recovery. He's a lovely guy wae a great personality the media have savagely turned that man into a laughing stock. When hes a son, father, cousin friend. Im not saying he's an angel and hasn't hurt/lied/betrayed/stole. All addicts have, just people like me and Marvin are demonised with the word junkie attached to you for life. I haven't saw Marvin since i left turning point on the 25th September 2019. If anyone on here knows Marvin personally id like to know how he managed and if he kept clean. I have and would love to hear from Marvin to see how hes doing. Thanks James for giving drug addicts like myself and Marvin a platform. I had just began dabbling with heroin but had a serious prescription habit mostly valium Pregablin tramadol and msts. Marvin is a great guy with demons like everybody else. If i managed to get clean and still be til this day others can and will do it.

So brave for Marvin to speak out about his journey. Always heard wee stories here n there of autographing peoples cigarettes in the town and folk were quick to judge and giggle about it, but these people were asking for this then slagging him off for it. The man can’t win. To everyone who’s abused or trolled this guy, maybe look inwards first. I wonder if anyone judging him has been so honest about their own lessons in life.

You know, this interview should be a lesson to everyone. Listening to Marvin it's easy to tell the guy is actually quite intelligent, and given another set of circumstances he would have forged a very successful career in his chosen field...his sister is proof of that. Yet because he had a drug problem the media decided to use and abuse him for their own benefit. I say abuse because in any walk of life when you take advantage of someone who quite clearly has an illness, then that can only be deemed to be abuse. And saying he was a willing participant is complete nonsense and no defence. He has been used and badly abused since the minute he accepted the producers offer. James, you should be commended for yet another candid interview with a 'real' person with a story to tell. You have managed to show viewers a glimpse of the real Marvin Baird, and done more for this guy in 1 hour than every other media outlet has done in 10 years. I hope all of your 36,000 subscribers watch this and get inspired. I wish Marvin all the best and sincerely hope he and Sharon have a long and happy life together

I'm in tears watching this! Honestly ma heart goes out to marvin and everyone else who's going through something similar, I never watched the scheme after the first episode as I found it fkin traumatic that tv producers could film these people's lifes like big brother ! I'm 29 grew up in various schemes in glasgow. Both my parents were heroin addicts when I was growing up resulting in myself and my little brother getting took off my mum at a young age, it was then got her act together, admitted herself to west st rehab and eventually got us back! Ma mum is now 16 years clean from heroin n every other nasty drug she used to take and honestly u couldn't meet a better person, meanwhile ma dads still an addict to methadone and whatever else the cunt takes Haha hut I love him all the same and pray he finds a higher power before it's too late! Well done marvin, a love hearing success stories.....just keep it simple guys, take it one day at a time!much love❤

Thanks for giving this guy a voice and his chance to share his story! I am from close to here and I think people need to understand that being a drug addict involves so many different factors! Also I now live in Japan and have seen new cultures. Japan may seem like the perfect culture but every country has it's issues!

@@sammycinnamon7300those producers, they are private school educated, went to university, are skilled in manipulating people who have nothing. They promise opportunity will grow, a new life at the end of the rainbow etc, they promise to show the best side, of vulnerable people, dangle many carrots. Then get in close and take the absolute p1ss out of these people. Dehumanise them, for ratings, they will kick the sh1t out of those vulnerable people and advocate the nation get behind that, through the press and sensational editing. The decade of taking advantage of vulnerable people to try and put out a message was nothing short of cheap television lining the pockets of people who need to be held accountable like the jeremy kyle show. Absolutely horrible how much this lad was used for entertainment and then discarded like a disposable item. I wish him well and the only advice I can give him is shut out the negativity and aspire to do whatever you can and want to be, he has a platform if managed well could be lucrative and could help a lot of people, he may not realise it but he has an abundance of opportunity.

He looks so happy with such an amazing future ahead of him drug free with the girl of his dreams, a future that so many people, not just addicts dream of. Its terrible what Heroin does to people, and to the ones who get clean, it finds you at your weakest point then its robs you of everything, your friends, your family, your self respect, your dignity, your soul and your future. I do hope he's ok. Keep 'Er Lit & Sustain The Flame🔥👌👍
