Minis are technically art. Would you criticize Van Gogh because every painting isn't Starry Night? When I'm painting I can reach a certain standard but sometimes I really like the result of my work more than usual. All these sculpts are fantastic, but criticizing them for not all equalling the absolute best is faulty logic. This isn't a machine cranking out a specified level of quality. It's a design by an artist.

what I mean is that they seem to put different effort levels into some rather than all/others. I wouldn’t criticize Van Gogh for that but if some of his work was clearly 50% as good as others, that’s not because it’s not starry night.

Thanks for the additional video. I appreciate your thorough coverage and practical viewpoints. I still haven’t made up my mind, but I have a few hours to continue to debate myself: “Yes, I want it because it’s so cool”; No, it’s impractical and you’ll never play enough to justify the cost”, etc.

As someone that missed the MU kickstarters and just has the retail boxes, I'm close to all in (minus galactus). Planning on using all these mini to fill the MU gaps and using blank playing cards to create those character decks at home. Really helps being able to rationalize this as a 2 for 1 deal. Plus I'm not running up a credit card balance or anything silly like that just to get this....

Thanks for your round up. Even though I have a lot from x-men united coming. I am for at least the resistance pledge plus an expansion or two. I may move up to the hungry pledge in the pledge manager. Someone did a price break down of the cost of mini's and with the hungry pledge it is around $1.30 a mini. To me that is a great deal especially considering that it will end up having somewhere around 100 ks exclusive mini's. Just as a heads up, I don't think you can spread your pledge manager purchases over a few months. With MotU also by CMON it is a one time deal which sucks.

Thanks for your input Chris, I'm in agreement with much of your opinions. Thus I think I'll get a basic pledge plus sinister six from the KS and see about getting the rest at retail. If I can proxy some of my marvel united in so be it, mix in my zombicide BP and GH for home brew fun all the better.

Nice tips! I think i'll be getting the hungry pledge not so much because of fomo but because of the fun of being able to try out different characters, like the console game Marvel ultimate alliance that I played. I expect the "low" tier heros to be meh but it make the game harder so still quite fun. And with more character choices its easier to entice my firends to play with me. This game is easy to learn and play so I think it would be a great gateway game which is very suitable for me and the people around me. But I agree with your tips, its very good for those who are neutral to the theme and IP.

Another greate video! I would take Galactus for sure if only i knew someone would buy this "mini" from me or it would be smaller like 20% of this one damn it...

Great video! I FOMO'ed the first 3 expansions with Galactus initially like a rookie. Now that I've calmed down, I think I'm going to revise my order and eliminate the Galactus expansion and add the top four you outlined leaving out Sentinel and probably the $30 tile pack. Thanks for the level-headed thinking, I’m going to stick with Resistance and no add-ons. I was thinking about Sinister 6, but it’s just too much plastic with the 2 cores and the bonus box already providing a stack of 3 boxes and mounds of plastic, which I intend to paint this time. I also recall that Rue Morgue had PvP and you know how many times I played that mode? Never did, so I’m not seeing Sinister 6 as any different here.

You probably know this by now, but they made Thanos (Zombie) and Red Skull (Super) playable now but as part of the KS exclusive of each expansion.

I'm definitely on the other side regarding the last 2 expansions; Syn 6 was my last "must have" expansion I was waiting for, and I love the idea of the Sentinels. Do they have similar poses to the MU X-Men ones? Yup. Do I care? Not a bit. Though I'm also in the boat that with Nightcrawler, all the X-Men I care about are already there so I can't think of a box worth that I'd want. The only characters unwanted that we didn't get are Punisher (apparently issues around him right now) and Ghost Spider. Anyways, just another take. 🙂

I was on the fence for a while, but I pulled the trigger on it. Good point you bring up about the X-Men. I was hoping for more characters to be honest. I'm not sure if CMON will be able to do a follow up campaign next year but there is some room for some boxes. Apocalypse and his minions like Sinister, Omega Red are stil not used. We got a Zombie Thanos so there can still be a Infinity Gauntlet style box set. Time will tell

Just backed the base - as great value as always - IF IF - Heroes VS Zombies Core comes to retail - then I think base + smaller expansions are best value . Pick up resistance at retail ( save on shipping overseas - eg probably can get for free shipping and a discount ) . The big problem is if C'mon don't release it you are screwed bigtime - what to do , what to do ?

Great explanation! I agree with all of your points. I will not be backing this, as I am not a huge Marvel fan, and the actual gameplay to dollar value is not here, from what I can see. For people who do love Marvel, I think this will be a real treat!

Something towards the beginning of the video that i also felt with their invader version(and i love/hate cmon sometimes) the quality of miniatures in the core box were very underwhelming in comparison to the add-ons and stretch goals. And the fact they gave Yahtzee dice, while i think almost every other zombicide had custom dice

Interesting video and comparison. You're right the price for the Galactus vs a number of extensions... By the way with the Hungry Pledge you have one extension for free, and you're closed to the Galactus Pledge (20$ difference). Right now, I'm quite sad about getting Undead or Alive. It seems that this one is more interesting...And more variabilities of gameplay. But maybe I'm wrong. What do you think between both? I also think it's quite sad that there are no more gameplay content about Marvel Zombies (only from Quackalope), there is a lack of real feedbacks about this game. Again, thanks for your videos, and let's continue like this :-)

We know Undead or Alive is an iterative improvement on Zombicide. We don't know anything on play about Marvel (and Marvel United shows us that they definitely half-ass a lot of playtesting). I went all-in on Undead or Alive and I don't regret it. Way cheaper for a similar amount of more-proven content.

@ Don't get the $240. Get the core $130 (which includes all the stretch goals) and buy the Hero Box at retail for a discount. It's definitely coming to retail.

I owned the Zombicide 2nd Edition game, and I went all in for Marvel United and Marvel United X-men. Marvel United kinda already fulfill my "Marvel dream" and it is a new different game. I also like the chibi designs. So I feel like I don't need this game to fulfill my "Marvel needs" anymore. Also, I seriously didn't play zombicide that much. Yes the game was fun and kinda cool. But after 2-3 games, I just got tired of setting the game up. There is just too many stuff and with this Marvel version, I think there will be even more. I think if they come up with a new Marvel-based game with a TOTALLY NEW gameplay, I would be more interested. Not to mention the price of this game + shipping is just CRAZY.

I mean there are more X-Men characters than any other Marvel IP in this kickstarter with 22-23 hero sculpts (depending on if you count Scarlet Witch as an Avenger or X-Men). So I’m honestly not disappointed with the amount of X-Men all together. Would have preferred an Inhuman expansion instead honestly.

The sentinels are just perfect. I can use the marvel united x-men sentinels in my zombicide too👌😍

Funny how different opinions can be. The Sentinel strike expansion is actually the only one I'm getting. I want sentinels and professor x, and it KS exclusive, so it's you only chance to get it.

Good review 👍 I Holded off for a week to see where the campain was going. The game is not for me after all. Dropped the whole thing. My bank account is happy 😂

CMON runs their campaigns on FOMO by butting things you think you need behind paywalls and worry about playability later. I have no doubt they playtested the core stuff, but a lot of the other stuff is no doubt tacked upon it.

Australian costs including postage: $700 for the Hungry Pledge and $1390 for the Devourer Pledge. Adding Galactus and the additional postage doubles the cost. Ouch! I have pledged $1 and will decide later.

@@Nozdormu1982 depends on the game. Vagrant song look good with the skinny minis. My Nemis is unpainted and the minis still make the game pop. With cthulhu death may die i am 100% painted and it looks stellar. Some games are just more fun with minis. I understand it cost more in ti.e and money but the juice is worth the squeeze.

Since they ridiculously left out a certain character, I say the real PUNISHER is the cost of this game in it's entirety.
