They probably thought the “4” was referencing Phase 4 of the MCU, not Fantastic Four(including me), but some of them did realize that it was the F4 logo

What I like about MCU is they like to introduce unknown heroes and make them popular later. And they don't really shy about it. Back in 2008, we had no idea who Iron Man is because back then, Batman, Superman and Spiderman were way more popular. Then, they introduced Thor, Captain America, The Guardians of The Galaxy, Ant-Man, Dr Strange, Black Panther and later will be Shang-Chi and Eternals.

Back in 2002 all I ever knew of Marvel was Sam Raimi's Spidey. But thanks to Doctor Strange movie and my sister who told me before I saw Doctor Strange was to watch all the past MCU movies before I even watched it.

At the July 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Feige announced Marvel Studios was developing a Fantastic Four film for the MCU, with Jon Watts announced as the director in December 2020. yesss
