Which came first, popular from wicked, or popular song by Mika?? I think he may have done a cover or wrote it for the musical because it's the same tune and some of the words are the same

Wicked came first. It debuted on Broadway in 2003. The songs were written by Stephen Schwartz. The Mika/Ariana Grande collab came out in 2013. Their song is considered an "updated cover of the original version" of "Popular" according to Wikipedia, but I'd call it more of an homage or that they sampled the song. Bonus: Mika wasn't active until 2006, so he wouldn't have had anything to do with Wicked during its original run.
