I used to collect these as a kid too. The artwork was great on these cards. I remember the boxes were pretty expensive. I used to collect all the other marvel cards and DC cards too. The silver surfer card is my favorite always loved the artwork on it.

Definitely brings back memories. The boxes were definitely expensive especially for that time. I got a box for my birthday and it was my only present and I was very happy. Such incredible artwork!

This is awesome! I still have my complete sets of the first and second series of marvel masterpieces

Same here for me, I’ve hung onto them for all these years but unfortunately probably not worth very much.

I always liked the old impel/skybox marvel era over the fleer/flair era

90s trading cards were the best. I wish they bring back more chromium cards

Wow that card looks fn bad ass The Thing vs Hulk. Beautiful card. My favorites were that card and the Wolverine, NightCrawler and MoonKnight cards.

I've never heard of these before but the Red Skull and Phoenix Cards have some awesome artwork.

The artwork is still so amazing! They were the biggest thing as far as comic book/super hero cards as a kid. It definitely brings back memories.

$1?! Where ha, wish I found them that cheap. I remember when they first came out they were $4-$5 a pack I wanna say. At the time the most expensive comic book cards.

I bought the entire 1992 Masterpiece set in a binder. It has four of the five battle spectra cards (only the Wolverine one was missing).

just curious why you would grade some of these? a psa 9 for that wolverine goes for like 30 bucks.

The last PSA 10 went for $600. Obviously you’d want to get the gem mint. These cards were all going for much higher 6 months ago. I think these will continue to rise in value especially as the movie franchises get bigger and introduce younger audiences to these characters. So while the PSA 9 might range $30-$45 I think in 2 years it will be double to triple and further down the road they’ll go up much like most vintage cards. Vintage cards blew up over the past couple years. 4 years ago I sold pre war era tobacco cards for cheap now they’re going for 10 times as much. The collecting market has exploded in the past few years.

@@Absolutesublime1 but 90s marvel cards were massed produced. I literally have completed sets with all holograms from 1990-1999. I love the flair signature series, I flip open the books I have every now and then to check the art work

A lot of people also try collecting full sets/series in PSA 9 or 10 which as a whole collection adds value. Some people also just like preserving them in a slab solely for collecting purposes and don’t care about monetary aspects. For a bit PSA was the only grading them so the initial value a year ago was highly inflated but now it’s balanced out but they’ll rise in value over the coming years.

@@TheLastSamurai813 yes much like the comics of that time and sports cards but not many are graded 9 or 10. The third party authentication and grading is what gives them value.

@@TheLastSamurai813 they’re notoriously hard to get 10s especially the holograms because so many are off center. So even if you kept them pristine right from the factory they could be a low grade due to centering.
