Dwight mentioned the new head sculpt for Silver Surfer when they first revealed him as the second unlock tier during the HasLab campaign, but considering that was more than a year ago, you can be forgiven for forgetting that little detail. I love both versions, honestly, and not sure which one I prefer. No doubt I'll have to display both, maybe the new one with Big G and the Walgreens version perhaps with the Defenders.

I may not have backed Galactus, But to be honest, Silver Surfer looks cool despite not being pinless, Frankie Raye Nova looks abosutley beautiful and fire despite not being painted gold, and Morg is another badass, threatening herald just like Terrax the Tamer because they have big ass weapons, Fantastic review Dan.

Great breakdown, Dan. I still think I prefer the Walgreens Surfer head design overall, but I like the faux ear sculpts on the new head. Morg turned out amazingly. Let’s get Air-Walker and Stardust. 🤞

The Walgreens Surfer is superior in my opinion.

@@greengamma569 I could see the head sculpt looking better with the tech they use now, but the paint apps on the Walgreens version are superior which as a whole aesthetically make him the better figure for display, you don’t have to agree just my opinion. If I had to keep only 1 it would be the exclusive.

Stardust, Air-walker, Red Shift, There was another Female Herald named Ardina she was introduced in Stan lee’s and Jack Kirby’s last collaboration a Silver Surfer: The Ultimate Cosmic Experience a Fireside Graphic novel I don’t know what happened to her, if you had the Marvel Select Destroyer you could have used that as a Herald too,Cybermancer no idea 🤷🏾, Dazzler, Deadpool 🤷🏾, Invisible boy (Johnny Storm), Rom the Space knight, Doctor Strange 🤷🏾 oh and don’t forget Cosmic Ghost Rider , the first three are the one’s I really want I hope they don’t take forever for them to make them.

Frog Man actually did a cosmic adventure recently in the Iron Man books, where he was recruited into a ragtag team to chase Korvac! As for the figures, they look awesome, however I wish they had released Terrax on a body more similar to Morg in size, as when they duke it out in the comics they are pretty much face to face. I may also give Morg my Savage He-Man axe, as the one he comes with seems fairly small.

I think the existence of Renew Your Vows Spidey really hurts this new Silver Surfer. You can immediately look at this figure and think "They'll make a better one in a year or so" It's not a bad toy by any means, though I do prefer the head sculpt and shinier silver of the Walgreens, but that's the first thought I had when I took him out of the box. One little thing I noticed is the peg on this Surfer's board is in a different spot to the Walgreens board. I wonder why Hasbro did that?

Air walker and red shift are the cannon heralds I remember still missing, along with a new destroyer armor. But there are tons of silver surfer characters we are still missing that would look great with galactus

You know what would have been cooler than that ridiculous Doom head a Punisher bot which was one of his bots he use’s when someone mess with his equipment.

I like this new head sculpt because this is the Planet Hulk/Infinity series version. The old one is nice, too, but more Jack Kirby.

i definitely have my gripes about both surfers. one has the vance astro head and the other looks like iceman. but i actually am a fan of the newer surfer, he’s definitely my favorite of the two.

Whatup Bars! I believe we only get one energy effect. The Surfer on display at Comic-Con only had one.

All three look good. Morg looks superb. As another viewer said he needs some other hand options: fists and grasping would be good. Energy effects for his axe would lift him even more. Silver Surfer should be on Renew Your Vows Spidey buck. The new head looks good.

I went for a 90s animated Fantastic Four display coz my childhood was the all the Marvel animateds so Morg is just sitting by himself which is a shame coz he has the best/most detailed sculpt out of the 3 Also silver surfer does only come with 1 power effect even tho they show 2

Nice review of these figures, Dan! Some trivia for you, Dan: Those raised, scaly, bumpy skin plates on Morg are known as osteoderms. Many reptiles and amphibians have those raised sort of bumps on their dermis--crocodiles come to mind. Also the fossilized dinosaur skins from Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus have been found to have these raised, bumpy surfaces. For me, they are what make Morg a cool looking figure. I can't so much about his Hulk Hogan hairstyle, or his '90s heavy metal boots, but I really think his skin texture is what makes him a standout in the set of three. I want to see a Gabriel the Air Walker figure from Hasbro. He was the Silver Surfer replacement Herald, and I don't think Hasbro has ever done him before, and he absolutely needs a figure!! Great review! I can't wait until my Galactus arrives, although truth be told, I don't even know if I'll be able to display him right away. That Frankie Raye figure looks great for as simple as she is, but honestly I never really cared much for the character. I always her boring compared to other characters who have the same flaming gimmick, like Human Torch, Firestar, Firebird, Phoenix, etc. I might even decide to use her fiery display piece for Johnny Storm or Dark Phoenix or somebody else besides her.

these made this Haslab project more worth the price.... I missed the Wal-green Silver surfer, glad it was released again.

This was their chance to fix Surfer by giving him a more imposing body with pinless tech but Hasbro didn't do it.

I did not order Galactus, but I’m looking at these three and mental gears are working to do easy customs. Surfer - already had him (Wg and previous), but one thing I did notice is this new version also has the back peg hole. Nova - I think I’ve got Scream around here, but not a big Symbiote fan and still don’t have Lasher, so she’s fodder to me. The head I could still grab a MCU Binary Carol/CM, or just wait for retro Dark Phoenix and paint her head gold? I’m already planning a Rachel Phoenix with EndGame Widow head on DP body. (I’m still looking for comic Binary! So jealous others have already used her for custom fodder! She seems a fairly straight repaint into Frankie, tho?) Morg - I had his early issues, but he never caught on with me. Customizing him would be easier with a Thing with pants. I hope they release him later on single card/box. I’m thinking they could get some reuse out of that body with Dark Riders’ Tusk. I made mine with BAF Rhino. If his head was smooth, they could reuse that for the Elders of Universe’s Champion on the Herc/Maggot body. Or just transplant the hair? Boots could work on Stryfe, if they were upgrading more than his helmet. Maybe the gauntlets, too?

I prefer the Walgreens Silver Surer.

The sad thing is looking at Morg only highlights what has folks upset with elements of figures that get skimped on these days. How just a little mist of shading would have elevated a figure from good to great. Spiral is a fantastic example of Hasbro delivering for collectors. Putting Mojo and Longshot out as singles. Look, I own that retro of classic Vision, it's one of my more valuable gets but I wouldn't mind if they did a rerelease with better paint and less cheap looking plastic.

Whi8le it isn't a HUGE issue, it is disappointing that all the Surfered seem to have only one power effect piece.

Morg is too short. Should be the same height as Terrax. Only heralds missing is Stardust, Gabriel Air Walker and Red Shift
