exactly why I was looking forward to your review, not only was it in depth with all the details features etc. but you also pointed out the flaws that other reviewers haven't mentioned mainly why I originally subscribed about 5 years ago. becuase you never disappoint when it comes to reviewing and going over every aspect of the item, so thank you Paul for the awesome and honest reviews all these years and I definitely look forward to more and as far as this helmet goes. This thing is awesome! It's great to see a FULL helmet come out as I never liked the half helmets Hasbro has been making in the last few years. I still have my full Movie Optimus helmet, which I love. And I would totally go for this and the Star Wars helmets in the Black Series (Stormtrooper). If Hasbro makes a Thor's Hammer replica, I would go doing backflips to Toys R Us or Target to get one. Or two. :D

I love the flawlessness of the review, I might just have to buy myself an Iron Man helmet sometime in the future...

a little strip of clear tape on the offending magnets may stop that scratching and not impair the latching optibotimus :)

As an owner of one of these, I will say that the lights appear brighter in person.

The helmet is based on the based off of any of the iron man suits below the mark 40 when he started using a different, more sleek earpieces that changed the shape and allowed for better hearing.

They should have molded the railings in plastic, hollowed them, or made them like a track and placed Earth magnets under the rails. That way it could match the rest, and not get scratched but still maintain the ability to hold the faceplate up.

I want to see this retrofitted with Magic Leap AR goggles and motorized hinges

Just got this. Super stoked. Wish it felt a little more durable doe. Probably going to alter it slightly just to make sure it's a little more stable.

Great piece here. I had this on preorder a while back but I got fired and now I'm broke... hopefully soon I can get this AND that Captain America Shield. Hopefully you review that too cuz I REALLY wanna see how it looks in someone's grasp. :D #TeamCap

ive got the shield its pretty good my only thing is as far as i know you cant adjust the straps to put it on ur back( looks like you replace them if u wanted to) but id say its worth reviewing

yeah i have the same scratches by the chin. and the same scratches by the magnetic strips. i fixed alittle with a red sharpie but some times it still rubs off. Im thinking on putting mine on a shelf once re paint my walls,and miss my marvel legends figuers. and thats me wearing mine in my avatar pic.

Having worked for Hasbro for several years as a Product Designer, the "rippling" is due to both heat during the injection mold process when the parts are cast as well as "stress" marks when the parts are immediately assembled and screwed together while the plastic is still somewhat warm and "pliable". These helmets are manufactured VERY quickly on the assembly line with both machine and human building so, these types of rippled "stress" marks will be common on very thin high impact poly-styrene (we call it HIPS) and ABS (acrylontrile butadiene styrene - this is a stronger but more expensive plastic) materials. Deformation of the surface will occur.

Interesting bit of information. Thank you first off for watching and secondly for sharing. That makes a great deal of sense. As i talked about in the video, i do look at this more as a "toy" of sorts but i still very much like it regardless.

I do love mine as well too so, I am very forgiving of it's tiny flaws considering it is definitely not an Anovos, Master Replicas, or EFX prop replica. But, for an affordable "cosplay" movie accurate replica, it is great!

Hi Optibotimus. It is definitely based off the original first film Mark 3. There's a little paint detail on the front chin that I think Hasbro forgot to reference (it's a little square red painted detail that is missing). But, then again, after watching your review. I could be mistaken as well :)

It COULD be based off the Mark 3 but it definitely isn't. The III has that molded detail under the chin like the MK VI does, but which is totally missing on the MK VII, like replicated here on the prop

I wish that they painted the lines around the ear and back with a darker color to kind of give that multiple parts effect. The way the back of the helmet looks like one massive piece of plastic kind of bothers me. But that's only my opinion.

Also, this helmet will scratch very easily because it's only a "candy" clear red lacquer type finish without a protective 2 part clear coat (which is unfortunate). It would have been nice if a protective clear coat had been applied but, then we would probably be talking an additional $50 - $75 more on top of the $99 price point. I am a little concerned about the clear red possibly fading with the "pink pants" issue the first Hot Toys Iron man figures had because, the clear red was painted on top of a silver undercoat. Hopefully this will not happen with this helmet. Howard Chan from Hot Toys personally told me that their latest Iron Man figures since the suit case Mark V are not painted this way anymore. The silver undercoat acted like a "mirror" underneath the clear red which reflected even more light to cause the red to fade. And, red is already has a bad reputation as a fading color. And, your video is spectacular as always! I love watching your reviews my friend.

You can make a video of you wearing it, but no I don't recommend you to wear it while driving. It's difficult to see through the mask especially if the LED is at its brightest.

No not quite, it's actually from Mark 7. The Mark 3's V head is more angular while the one on the Mark 7 is rounded off

Me being the big fan of Iron Man, I don't just want this, I *NEED* this! It doesn't seem to be cheap, and the paint scratches (as everyone in the comments pointed out) look like battle damage, which I like. Also, admit it, you want to have an Iron Man suit. This brings me the closest I would probably ever get to that. Having this would just make me, I don't know, ecstatic when it would arrive, and just downright amazed when I put it on my head. You should know that I would be excited for the chance to get one of these as a contest winner or something for free, or at least a discount.

Damn Lol I might just use this for airsoft or paintball
