That intro was better than most televisions shows now days

I hope they make that intro into a new episode of the upcoming X-Men '97 series. 😂 I have the old Blob BAF & never liked it, so I'm glad there's an updated model. Thankfully this new fig seems to have better articulation & is a more accurate design of the character. Blod's body is supposed to be "blobby" than "blubbery". So I'm glad they gave the new fig a smoother design & didn't include all the extra fat folds, that the older fig had.

I absolutely 100% agree with all of that.

I’ve never seen the real close-up of that head sculpt before, it is so beautifully ugly. I love it.

This is the Blob for me. Some people say the old one is better, but it's just too gross for me. It doesn't look like the Blob, it looks like a character *based on* the Blob, like if Todd McFarlane made a Blob for the Spawn comics. Comics Blob *is* usually just drawn as a big round guy. I don't need all the other stuff that old figure has. The Brotherhood in my head is kind of a mish mash. It's your one, but also with Sabretooth and Magneto. Hasbro really missed the chance to avoid Moira pegwarming by doing a foresight-themed 2-pack with her and Destiny, especially given what the recent comics did with those two. Now I just hope she comes in a 2-pack with a new Mystique. Just doesn't seem like a character that'd do well in a regular wave.

Agreed, Destiny isn't the most exciting of figure designs, and she's not the most action oriented of the team. Maybe a candidate for a 5 pack? And also agreed, this Blob captures the comics better. Like I said, I don't have a problem with the old Blob, but there's also a reason it's been in a tub for years instead of on the shelf...

Use the BAF for your Ultimate X-Men shelf? That guy was drawn pretty disgusting, like if Fat Bastard had given up on life.

This is so awesome, if all the figures were this good, I wouldn't mind prices or lack of accessories. I love that they got this so right, but it just makes it even more frustrating don't get things like Ch'od's three fingered hand or painting his fins, lips, and claws. I really love the nostalgia focus of Legends, that's how you keep people like me coming back when I want to quit and save myself some money but when you give me that girthy Blob action... figure then I can't quit on you now.

Man. Brown costume mafex wolverine looks gooooood. Just wish he had the classic belt buckle..

He looks great and props for a top notch review Robo. It’s funny how a few people are saying he’s too small when Blob was either this size or smaller for 30 years. He was also almost never drawn with excessive wrinkles like the BAF. I’m pretty sure the naysayers haven’t read many comics with Blob.

You can also add Spiral and Spider Woman (Julia Carpenter) to the team since they were in an earlier incarnation. If you really want to be a completionist, we'd also need Crimson Commando, Stonewall, and Super Sabre along with Destiny to complete the full crew.

"Freedom Force" was commishioned by Valerie Cooper (United States NSA advisor) after the evil mutants were pardoned of their crimes. They worked alongside the Avengers as one of their first missions. Not sure why people refer to them as the brotherhood...

I like the bulk of the old blob, but this one looks pretty cool still. It just really sucks that he cost so much. I wanted to get a couple to customize into MOTUC figures. Oh well... Maybe someday.

That's a lot more articulation than i expected... Especially the swivel on the torso! And able to balance on one foot in a running pose? Noice.

I agree, I wouldn't feel comfortable displaying the old one on a shelf because of how gross he is. The new one is still suitably massive but he doesn't make me shiver in disgust any time I look at him

Maybe not as bulky as some images of him but a big improvement over the old baf. The freckles are a nice touch as are the extra hand and head options. The intro was cool Robo.👍

I've seen some complaints about his bulk being rather small but I think they were going for an early 80s Blob. The conception of what it means to be "large" has considerably changed since then. Especially for super villains.

This will go perfect in a Pryde of the X-Men/Arcade display. "NOTHING MOVES THE BLOB."

Perhaps one day in a short we will get to see the X-Men shelf?

I think we an all relate to that feeling of spending a little extra on a figure that we're really excited about, thankfully most of the time I feel it pays off. This figure looks great and Blob is absolutely a classic iconic X-Men villain, but I'm not fond of him enough to pick this up. I love villains in any media, always have, Spider-Man villains are my bread and butter when it comes to Marvel but X-Men villains were a close second growing up. That said Blob just somehow evaded me, I knew of most other X-villains but him, Avalanche and Mojo were just a few of the ones I didn't immediately know about, so his impression isn't as burned into my brain as say Magneto or Juggernaut. Even without that I simply don't have the space for bigger characters like him or Mojo on my X-villains shelf as it currently stands, but at least for now the major villains that I personally hold near and dear I have for the most part, so I'm mostly happy with that display. I do hope we get a regular Mystique again though since I don't have her, and Magneto and Sabretooth I don't feel have really great versions yet.

@@Chalor. this Blob is definitely big enough. Check out almost every comic appearance he’s had since X-Men #3. He’s either this size of smaller. He’s always been shorter than Hulk or Juggernaut.

(Packed it up altogether when I moved in 2013, it somehow disappeared when I unpacked it in 2015? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️) Will this be available at retail? Otherwise, I’m fine with my BAF. Pretty neat but YIKES at the near $60 price point. I just got a Kalibak for $40 and I think hes probably bigger and more detailed.

7:11 That looks like a guy Wolverine's height. Just look at the proportions with the head size. It's more like a really short fat dude in 1/8 scale. Not trying to be all negative here, just pointing out the obvious that it could've been done better...but could've turned out a lot worse. Even with all the stupid hasbro decisions, I'm still glad we got a new one. Certainly prefer the smoother look over the previous Stay Puft Cottage Cheese Man version.

Robo ordering from Canada while I'm getting one from BBTS. I'm sure you didn't pay that much more after the exchange rate.

I'm mixed. Something about the proportions seems off, like he's not a bigger character but an 8 inch scale figure, I think his face seems a little big on his head. I had gotten a clearance WWE Otis to make a custom, but theres a lot I do like with this figure.

I can see that, because it's technically a dude with just a lot of extra weight, his face shouldn't be that big compared to everyone else. But, I can also justify it as more mutation for his structure to carry that weight.

Yeah. Especially when comparing the figure to the comic images they chose to use. The kid that fell in the chocolate lake from Wily Wonka is kinda what he reminds me of as a 8 inch mego kinda scale. Weirdly enough, the Blob has always had a kinda over sized mouth so that looks really well. I think I'd want the eyes and nose spacing to be a little closer together. Head articulates really well though and not sure I'd want a replacement

The Blob should have been at least less expensive to buy but the price sucked and he does look cool because it's 100% better than the 2007 version, I don't need, But Fantastic review on the Blob Robo.

it will be great if Marvel remaster X-men the Animated Series using JUST your voice.

I definitely consider this a nicer, more streamlined design compared to the previous, but I just wish they were about an inch taller, way bigger belly, and their head size reduced. Like Anthony mentioned, it does look more like a fat guy cosplayer (semi-realistic, less comic booky), and not the Immovable Blob.

I like. Anthony's analysis, but I think he confuses his opinions as facts, and it definitely clouds his judgment. It's clear at this point that Hasbro has taken a semi-realistic approach to Marvel Legends (and Black Series). Anthony hates that and wishes they would be more exaggerated and stylized like old Toybiz or Sota figures. And you know what? His opinion is perfectly valid! But that's what it is: an opinion. He acts like the figures are objectively worse because of the choice in style, but that's just not the case. A stylistic choice doesn't make the figures any worse (or any better)
