I loved Echo. It was better than I expected. I can't believe Echo was Alaqua Cox first acting job. Young Echo was Alaqua cousin in real life. Poor Hawkeye. He gets blamed for Black Widow and Echo's fathers death..lol He can't catch a break.

It was so sick seeing Daredevil back in his original suit. Can't wait for Born Again!

The producer of the show was saying the suit was made as an adaptation of the red-yellow suit from she-hulk, but the she-hulk suit was basically the same as the Netflix Daredevil suit with some parts painted yellow. Basically the suit had to be re-made because the original suit that was used for the Netflix show was auctioned off when the series was cancelled.

Not as good as I thought......I loved the Native American stuff..also I never been let down by marvel yet,this isn't as good of expected.. Loved her disability an she is also. Too much old footage,want Netflix type series......just saying....

Echo was def better then expected, Although it sucked that Daredevil only had 98 seconds of screen time.

My understanding about Marvel Spotlight is they'll do stories about lesser known characters. I'm curious where they'll go from here. I was really impressed with how they blended the realism with the mystical (I dodn't mind the final confrontation but even though I understand that her grandmother had similar experiences it came off a tad silly that both Chula and Bonnie became empowered simultaneously). Either way it was a nice appetizer for Daredevil Born Again.

Her new ability is alright, but the hand movement for it looks so dumb

I like that as a indigenous person myself that they had a actress who is a native American and like her character is also deaf. I like also that Disney-Marvel did a effort to acknowledge native people. Overall Disney-Marvel did a excellent job. I hope they give it a season 2.

One thjng i absolutely loved is how they make Daredevil move. Its hard to put into words, but the way he pulls out his batons, the way he dodges some of Mayas attacks, was just so dope to see.

The beginning of this show with the Choctaw people seemed super similar to the what if episode with the whole blue glowing pool thing. I wonder if it’s just a coincidence that they’re so similar or if there is a connection between the two

It was great seeing the Graham Greene and Tanttoo Cardinal reunion. They played the Lakota Sioux couple Kicking Bird and Black Shawl in Dances With Wolves.

I enjoyed Echo myself. I dig the fact they used real world Ancestry lore for the series. To be honest u say KINGPIN i am in.

I caught that reference to dragons! I saw that they incorporated Maya's "open star" design from the comic in Maya's street clothes, very subtle, very cool. I loved that whole thing with Kingpin having the fancy contacts made to interpret ASL instead of bothering to learn ASL himself. It is a real plot point to her that he never even tried to learn it to understand her. Her whole family learned it, heck, even that one Track Suit guy learned it, but it was apparently beneath Kingpin to learn it. Loved that BillyJack reference, I'm old enough that I remember those movies. An appropriate name for Native American's dog.

An Echo power tools ad played before this. So funny! I enjoyed this series. Julia Jones was also Kohana in Westworld. Echo's dad was played by Zahn McClarnon who was Kohana's lover Akecheta. I love when Marvel shows have outside and "riding down the street" shots. I recognized so many places around here.

I think its awesome they fleshed out the Echo character more. The next time you see her, especially around Kingpin, it’ll be so much more meaningful. I enjoyed the action and Native American cultural aspects of the series with the Choctaw Nation involved for authenticity. Btw Henry Lopez is Echo’s father’s brother and her uncle.

So the dark reign comic arc which followed secret invasion is finally here. Will get Fisk as mayor instead of Norman, and Ross as POTUS. Very exciting and I can’t wait to see how things go in the thunderbolts movie and Captain America 4. It’ll be interesting seeing the lasting impact of Maya going in his mind too. I feel like he could have a little turning point in his character soon? Daredevil will probably explore that. Felt like purging Norman’s sin from the comics Overall I think echo was solid. Marvel are at their best when they focus on humanising one character or a group of characters and don’t try and bring in all this cinematic universe and multiversal stuff. Just tell a human story about acceptance, moving on from grief and growing as a person. That will always resonate with people like it did here. Not to mention the amazing cinematography, direction and choreography. There weren’t as many fights as I expected, but it made up for it with the character drama. Also a big fan of the native representation in this series. You can really tell the Choctaw played a big part in this and it shows with how authentic it feels. Learnt a lot about their culture and traditions which is great since they and the other native tribes are a huge part of our country’s history. Seeing a marvel show in OK also feels surreal. Good job, marvel. Keep doing the dark and gritty slow stuff please.

So many amazing Canadian Indigenous actors in this show. Graham Greene. Tantoo Cardinal. Devery Jacobs. Cody Lightning. So good. Loved this entire series.

They looked at the Reservation Dogs' cast and said yes!

What I get about the women fight is that to reference her name "Echo" if you pay attention they're just echoing Maya's move, son she's is actually doing the fight, and them they're just echoing

I applaud Kingpin's solution to the sign language problem. YES, It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks. New language learning is one of biggest. When you become an old dog yourself you will understand. Keep up the great work!

My only complaint there was after rewatching daredevil season one it made a point of Fisk knowing other languages and not telling people. I thought for sure he was going to pull out using or understanding sign language but he just never wanted Maya to know similar to how he did it with Nobu and Goa in season 1.

Interestingly, the actor that played Vicki (Thomas E. Sullivan) played Nathaniel Malick in Agents of Shield.

Everbody on the show treated him like he was the most important character in the MCU. lol

The daredevil fight felt like a good mix tonally. Not as light as she hulk but not as brutal as Netflix eras and loved the fight choreography. I like this series , she’s a likable character.

Echo was pretty good I thought, def better than she hulk and other shows. I don't understand why we never saw how she discovered her powers or daredevil again after that one encounter? And why didn't we see grandma's reaction to her new mail delivery monster truck!? Haha And grandma didn't like Maya's father and didn't talk to Maya for 20 years but talked to her uncle that Grandma had no relations to? Either way Maya was a bad ass even before her powers .

Willie Jack is also the name of a character on Reservation Dogs. Lots of the actors and crew came from that show. I thought it might be a reference to Res Dogs.

Fantastic breakdown as usual! Wasn't that bad of a Spotlight ! They told Echos story quite well and added some cool stuff. I enjoy being able to binge watch it all right away. 🤙🏻

Anybody else hope they bring back more daredevil side characters from the show like Brett Mahoney, fisks lawyer, Mitchell from the bulletin etc although if punisher is taking down corrupt cops in the born again I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the corrupt cops killed or tried to kill Brett.. call back to the service reference he made in season one of DD

My only problem is as always....time. i hate how they start out strong with an hour and then each episode gets painfully shorter. That's my biggest gripe with Disney produced shows

Black crow is a superhero in the captain america comics from issue 292 april 1984. The earth spirit sent black crow to prove himself by fighting captain america.

I saw a quick flash to Kingpin staring at the painting from Daredevil. I don’t remember what season, I believe three, but I like that they showed it, because it gave a reminder of something that gave him vulnerability.

So I live in Oklahoma (and am part Choctaw) but I looked up the town this is supposed to take place in and it’s got a population of under 200, doubt there’s anything fancy as a skate rink lol.

This series was ALOT better than I expected hopefuly we get a season 2 or see echo alot more moving forward really enjoyed the acting from the actress who played Maya and the cast who plays her family. It was also funny seeing some of the same actors/actresses that are on the show Reservation Dogs reminded me of how when Black Panther was made alot of ppl complained bc they felt like Hollywood kept recycling the same Black actors in a bunch of movies. Might not be as many prominent Native American actors as they wanted or whatever but I thought that was funny/ironic ig lol. Great work overall by everyone who who participated in making the show was awesme to watch!

Hey Charlie👋🏻. The guy who sent the message about Maya being in that town played Nathaniel Malik in Agents of Shield S7.

The technology kinda looked similar to Pride tech in Marvel Runaways which would make sense ebing that they do have mutual territory respect and an affiliateion in the comics

The blue water thing reminded me of the what if episode with the tesseract lake

That sign language tech was dope as all get out

I noticed the guy that played Vickie played Nathaniel Malick on Agents of Shield.

I thought it was an excellent series, striking my heart many times. I would really like to see Maya having a future meeting with Hawkeye, ending with her healing his hearing loss.

The roller skating rink & spinning disco ball was a call out to the other dimension cave with the swirling galaxy 😊

so her family powers being orange doesnt it have to do with the soul stone energy from the creation? i remember someone was mentioning that some of the powers being certain colors had something to do with the radiation given off by the stones.

Best part of the whole series the Grandpa trying to sell stuff to the couple in the shop, doing the Indian chanting "buy the damn thing" over and over lol.

When I seen the roxxon station I immediately thought of Cloak and Dagger. Hopefully they make that cannon and bring back the hulu marvel characters like they did with Netflix characters.

When u started to introduce urself as Charlie at the beginning, for a slight moment I thought ur gonna say Charlie Cox😂

If this is how Marvel Spotlight is going to be, then I'm on board. This was a great watch. I'm feeling hopeful for Marvel future projects.

The relation between echo and kingpin is very similar like gomora and thanos. Both kingpin and thanos kill echo’s and gomora’s parents respectively, they just like their daughter and have similar toxic parenting from their “father”. And get the redemption since actually they are “the good girls”.

The heritage influence is strong with this one.

In the 2nd episode, Lowak, set in 1200 AD, did you notice that there was a brief scene with a European-looking man watching the games? He appears about 4 minutes, 20 seconds, into the episode. He was white, and was wearing old-time European clothing from that era. Since Europeans didn't come to America till 1492 with Columbus (yes, yes, I know about the Vikings), what was he doing here at that time? At least 300 years earlier than expected? Is this an Easter Egg?

A good show there were some small problems especially in the final episode but still like what I saw hope we continue to see more street level heroes

When Maya's mom takes Maya back to the car scene, they reeeeaaalllly should have had her Mom heal her before her mom died. Maya blacks out and when she opens her eyes her mother is dead. They should have kept this in the first episode. In the last episode, they should have showed Maya dieing or dead and her Mother healing her but dieing before Maya wakes.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the series. Had my reservations about it but it was definitely entertaining.

The family meeting up at the end is also similar to the end of the She-Hulk series too. Maybe it will continue at the end of other Marvel TV series?

Me and my daughter were on the ‘arsehole won’t learn ASL’ all series (we are deaf) and when she called him out we cheered!

I think that was what they were going for with that particular detail. He learned chinese just to talk to madame gao. But wouldn't take the time to learn sign language.

I actually really liked it. It felt alot like Kahhortis story. Alot of people really had no idea what was going on. But I was all for it. Amazing story telling. The contacts lenses to translate we're awesome!!! All in all it was a relatively goood show. I was hoping for a bit more cameos but Matt coming back was awesome!!!

The absolute VINDICATION I felt when she called out Kingpin for never bothering to learn ASL 😍🤣 but also if there was an unreleased episode I wish they had released it, I really enjoyed the series ❤️ I also kept yelling THEY'RE IN TWILIGHT TOO at my partner 🤣👀

I have mixed feelings about the brutality. I loved this series, and would have enjoyed sharing this with my 3 year old daughter who is a member of one of Canada's First Nation's and would have been good for her to see Alaqua as the star in this series, but it's too graphic. I'll run it back in ten years but it won't be the same lol.

Is there any connection between Zayne’s character and the character in agents of shield that the same actor plays?

I was thinking about Secret Invasion, according to the Disney+ timeline, Echo happened before that, so sadly there can't be a connection.

I was very happy with Echo! Didn’t carry a whole lot of excitement for this , but man I was grinning ear to ear once done. Special praise goes to Kingpin, Vincent absolutely chewed up every scene he was in, a gorilla could’ve been walking around, and I wouldn’t have even noticed! Thank you for the awesome breakdown Charlie!!

The Roxxon Travel Center and the Iron Rings Karate studio Easter eggs were pretty lol worthy

I liked this MCU echo but correct me if I'm wrong weren't her powers different in the comics? I remember her having basically the same powers as daredevil but she was a visual mimic - if she saw someone do something then she could do it.

The show was better than I thought it would be but still really fell short of excellence imo. I enjoyed the Native American lore and the two real fight scenes (the last one was really weak, I thought). Vincent D'onofrio really carried the episodes he was in. I don't know if Marvel will ever re-capture the pre-Endgame magic at this point. Maybe this great pivot will help. Maybe you just can't home again.

I was not moved by echo. However I respected what this show did and portrayed. I have nothing negative I’m just caught in the same time loop Antman was in

Even though most of the action/ brutality of the show was a bit much for me, I still really enjoyed the 5 episodes of Echo!! I thought it was a very unique and cool story!! It was a bit sad and intense but still good!! I’m beyond excited Kingpin is going to become a street level big bad for the MCU!!! It’s going to be so fun and so cool to eventually see Daredevil and Kingpin in a spider man movie!! It’s also very cool and exciting to know that the Netflix MCU shows ARE CANNON to the MCU!! I always kept believing they were. That also makes me hopeful a bit more that characters from Agents of Shield will reappear in the future of the MCU. Really hope so!!🤞
