I know I said it in the Serral game, but Maru is really turning it on in MC7. What do you think the difference is?

Hes just adapting to the meta, which is early Cyclone in TvT and late game Ghost-Libs in TvZ. He was playing a bit of an old style even after the new patch rolls out. And his games in Atlanta looks like he hasnt practiced much and he was just out of synch a couple times. I think he has resumed practice more often for the WTL playoff.

@@tigera6 it helps that IEM Katowice is in 3 weeks. Even still, the things I'm looking at are his early game micro as being on point - that's not a product of cyclones!

@@BeoMulf Yes, its better because hes adapting to play against the new Meta. Like in TvT, Maru and other Terran know how to deal with the annoying 2 Cyclone drop and 8 Cyclone opening without massing Cyclone himself which is great for him. In TvZ, because of the new Cyclone, Zerg cant really cheese with Roach anymore, allowing for a more standard opening for the Terran player imo. And like I said, it seems like Maru didnt practice much and out of synch during GSL S3 and Atlanta, he seems much better and more prepared now. I am still hoping for the Grand Final Bo7 of Maru - Serral.

@@tigera6 that would be sick, wouldn't it? While not everyone has qualified into the playoffs yet, Maru, herO, Serral, Dark, and Reynor is already a sick playoff bracket!

Game 2 Maru kills his own marine because the game has been too easy.

The GS7 is back in form... The terran emperor is back... Is this the 2018 Maru form where, he destroyed everyone in his path... I love how he is utilizing libs now along with his standard marine medivac marauder build

I think at the beginning you were talking about Dark vs Maru in the GSL, ur mistaking Rogue for Dark? I clearly remember Rogue smashing Maru in a GSL finals with roaches in multiple games

I remember it was Dark in finals using roaches. It was boring and digusting to watch OP roaches win easily every game

You are correct! I could have sworn Dark beat Maru with endless roaches in a GSL finals, but that was in fact Rogue. Thanks!

you should consider cropping out the score in the “coming up” intro, because now I start knowing who’s winning the first game. And btw, also a spoiler in the title. I hope this helps as a suggestion to improve the experience for us viewers.

The crop is a great idea - made a bit sadder by the low bitrate from using the MC7 clean feed. Regarding post title - its a delicate balance! Sometimes the story is "wow this game is really close and well played" and then its easier to avoid spoilers. But the story for this series is "Maru looks the best he has in months" and is taking everyone out. That's pretty hard to present in a non-spoilery way while still convincing people to watch

I don't see how late - game terran can be beaten currently. Ghosts are just too powerful, there is not counter to them except fungal growth, which lasts too short to be effective
