...All over again... Yup... and he's right. An absolutely beautiful ballad that became the casualty of a problem that 10 out of 10 artists would take 7 days a week...and twice on Sundays... a painfully slow unreleased swooner buried on a album that was loaded with sexy, hard hitting chart toppers... but, as the real ones/day ones can attest to, it was and still is a beautiful track... reminds me, haven't had a listen in years, essentially corroborating the treatment of the song, even from fans who still play his entire collection religiously... It's interesting and super fun to take stock in the songs that JT has a special affinity for performing, likely based on his general love for the song, years after their release. Ready to feel old? FSLS turns 20 next year.... 😮 Expectedly, a ton came from this album, which I believe JT also ranked as his top EP release. When taking sneak peaks at his current tour for the new album release (Everything I Thought It Was - which is absolutely incredible btw, and reminiscent of the most apropos sounds that you would find here... Marty still manages his chores, and it is still elite and executed with perfection, even at 43...) Cannot wait for his stop in Toronto - back to back nights in October, which means back to back birthday presents for myself....from myself..... no, I have a sister, I'll leave it at that... Couple fun facts - I personally loved MOTW, as well as the tour, as I think it was his most personal album, but can agree that it's tame approach and distinctly indistinct sound (I'll call it hipster cowboy chic...something you are more likely to hear from a group of aging 40 somethings attending their first Boots & Hearts, each of them allocating a minimum of 45 minutes of pre-shop prep in the most expensive hotel room they could find (ended up being a Doubletree), performing their best worm impression on one of the two double beds (room would have to sleep 6 this evening), including one CPAP machine, and a visit from a 48 year old divorcee named Collin who dropped by for the afterparty, which consisted of Pizza Pizza and a short life insurances sales presentation while their guest polished off two creamy garlic dipping sauces while Rhonda (that's one of the 40 somethings) fails miserably at being inconspicuous by reminding him every 14 seconds to check the status of his Lyft, at which point she just escorts him to the door, hands him his cowboy boots to put on in the hall, thanking him for a good night and promising to add him on Facebook the next morning,, now that she has his MetLIfe business card, which he reminded her 114 times that it had his direct personal line on it...which was pre-highlighted for some extremely odd reason... Quite the tangent, I know, but the worm impression was inspired by the method in which these lovely females shimmied their way into their pleather pants for the evening, which will be meticulously paired with one of their husband's oversized buffalo plaid dress shirts, bedazzled with NSYNC call outs on the back, with they group help of 3 of their daughters during the prior week's game night..... Oh, the fun facts.... the tour features close to 30 tracks as part of the setlist, and only one of them derived from MOTW,...and it was the collab with Chris Stapleton.... so, yeah, in hindsight, it's obvious that JT shared somewhat of similar fan sentiment.... also, he performs another ballad from this album, also unreleased, but clearly one his faves, as if I recall correctly, it has been included as part of every solo tour he's been on, as well as some of his major mashup performances expertly curated as part of massive music awards, some of which he was deservedly honoured with lifetime achievement honours, all culminated with his second (solo, and without nip slips) Super Bowl performance . It's title is representative of the expected duration of my fandom towards him...even if he does plan to return with NSYNC one day (BSB was the better boy band, don't @ me and get me started on that one)...Until the end of time... #DrusViewz
