Haha thanks for the compliment! We are Dutch and have visited all the Dutch Islands. We have now also visited Guadeloupe and Martinique and we loved them both. Especially for the nature, which is overwhelming compared to some island that only have beaches.

Thank you for these beautiful images of my island. You should have visited the Atlantic coast of Martinique like La trinté, Grand-Rivière or even Sainte-Marie for a tombolo

I'm very glad to hear this! We didn't know Martinique as well as we know the Dutch Caribbean Islands, of course. We had been to Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire a lot, but also Guadeloupe, which I really liked as well. Martinique is quite pure, with real people and real places. We loved this and hope it can keep it's charming culture. 😉

Megan thanks for watching! 😁👍 Yes, Martinique is big enough to find remote places with next to no people around. Especially the jungle is incredible 😍

Decades ago when I was a young, I went to the Club Med in Martinique in "Buckineers Creek", I believe. BEAUTIFUL island. Breathtaking. Very high iodiine in the seafood in that area, though, so if you have thyroid problems, don't eat the seafood like I did and you'll enjoy your whole beautiful bacation!

Yes exactly the feeling we got there 😅 The Netherlands has the same experience with the ABC-islands and Saint-Martin. This island is really typically French compared to for instance nearby Dominica or Saint Lucia.

Hi! We spend much time with the locals and even slept at someones home (first accomodation) 👍🏻 However it’s always hard and a bit rude to just film everyone without permission 🤪

You should have shown the northern beaches with black sand (from the volcano Mount Pélée) especially Anse Céron ; when you're there you can feel like an eerie atmosphere

Hi Tony, we were also at the black sand beaches near Saint-Pierre, but I guess you mean a different one. We wanted to see a bit of everything, of course. And there is a lot to see in Martinique! We might get back there in the future, so thanks for the tip! Did you check out the other destinations on the channel? There is a lot more about the Caribbean!

Wow, what a beautiful, clean, island. I am sure the locals are very friendly. Are there a lot of white sandy beaches which all of us in the US like and dream of? Do they use the ECD= Eastern Caribbean Dollar or the Euro/US dollar? Thanks for sharing an outstanding destination and family trip.

No, the currency we use is Euro since we’re French but I believe there is places who can maybe accept your currency or you can change it in the banks. Also we are very friendly but mostly young people speaks English, if you want a good experience maybe learning some French will be for the best. We also have our local language which is Martinican Creole (Similar to the Guadeloupean, Haitian and Ste Lucian ones) that we speak EVERYDAY along with French.

@@WoutoftheWorld Haven't been yet, but just booked our flights for January and was wondering what weather to expect :) Hoping for some good hiking and snorkeling. I guess it's a similar situation to many other islands where if it rains, you just drive a few kms away and it's sun again? :) Will deffo check out the other videos later today :) Cheers!

Hi Sebastian, compared to other Caribbean islands Martinique has the best prices for groceries because it is part of France. They have easier supply from the mainland. Have you been to the Caribbean already? Some islands are indeed crazy expensive. Check out all our other Caribbean videos too! 😁🤙🏻

Not only have we visited. We got stuck on the island when Covid began back in april 2020! The airport closed suddenly and we had to find a way home through Barbados and Canada. Crazy times. We might go back one day to have a less stressful trip.

O but we did everything there. It's just that the video failed a bit. We went hiking, stayed in tree houses there, swam in the canyon and some jungle waterfalls. We do think it was really beautiful 😁🙏

Hi Fermented Zucchini, lovely name 😂👍🏻 i guess not. We understand French a bit and speak little, but you’ll probably get by without it. It can’t be worse than China, where we have been multiple times without speaking a word with anybody 🤣

We came into the cruise ports. Definitely not the views. Have to take day trips.

Hi Idiotic, I wouldn’t know exactly. I can imagine, however, that Saint Lucia might be an easier flight? From there you can also take a ferry. We flew from France, which is of course easier, but we took the boat to Saint Lucia from there. A very nice way to visit more islands. Good luck and hope you find a route to paradise 😁🤙🏻

Cool video. I’ve been in Martinique the last 40 days. Here’s the good and the bad The bad Martinique is expensive. A pound of chicken breast may cost 20 Euros a pound. There is little fresh fish. Chinese factory ships have over fished the island. The fish cleaning stations in every town are silent. You will find only frozen fish at the market Little produce available at markets. Despite the island’s fertility, you will find very little produce, few greens and 6euro a pound apples imported from France. You absolutely need a car here. The roads are too dangerous to bike or walk along. The roads are narrow and cars drive fast. Towns are not pedestrian friendly Fort De France and most other towns offer very few restaurants, bars or shopping. Many are empty of life at night and shuttered. The good Incredible and uncrowded beaches of every kind. Good surfing in the north in warm water. Amazing nature areas and some fantastic hiking in areas like the Tartan. Many trails do not have switch backs and can be challenging or crowded on weekends Beautiful rural landscapes Friendly locals Low crime
