Tammy was momma's favorite so I grew up on her, and this was definitely one of the greatest country music songs ever written, up there with Only Make Believe by Conway Twitty.

I loved Tammy Wynette and I love you too! This is such a meaningful, beautiful, song. I lost my wife in surgery going on 6 yrs ago, and this song means so much to me, it tells how I feel, and it brings tears to my eyes! Thank you for sharing this beautiful song! 🌹🌟❤️💜🥰♾️

And just think of her husband hadn't been Garth Brooks sound engineer when they first got married and he ask Garth if he had some kind of job for her so she worked the T- shirt table until he heard her sing and he told her she needed to be saleing her own t-shirts

I think she has one of the most beautiful voices in country music. I don’t think she gets the credit for how good she is. I think she’s better than Carrie Underwood and faith hill

Only one word---WOW!!!!!

For almost 80 years now, I have been raised on and listened to country music. I miss many of the singers from decades ago, but so long as we have singers like Martina, Josh Turner, Travis Tritt, Dolly Parton, and many others, I, for one, will never complain that country music is now dead. It is still very much alive for me.

Totally agree brother. I've listened to country music for over 60 years. I loved Charley, the Hank's Williams and Snow ,when things started to unravel from the traditional , we got Alan Jackson and the amazing George Straight to pull things back. Martina is exactly what female country needs to keep tradition alive.

I am blessed to have the people at christ Curch. A bible based Christian church. They have taken me in their hearts to make it through the loss of my Mom, Dad and sister. Was nice to have my church family when my circle felt like it was gone. In the strong name of Jesus Amen.

WHY ISNT SHE THE QUEEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC???? SHE HAS SO MUCH MORE TALENT THAT THE SO CALLED COUNTRY SINGERS TODAY.

It's amazing how she makes every song her own, but shows such honor and respect for the original artist.

In my humble opinion Martina McBride is what Steve Perry is to rock. His voice is golden and hers is too. They set the bar for others to follow and that bar is a high one. ❤

Unfortunately Martina is pretty much ignored, if not forgotten. Like Faith Hill, Patty Loveless, Lorrie Morgan, Lee Ann Womack, Gretchen Wilson & Pam Tillis. Country music is cruel to most female singers. Why is that? Steve Perry is much older. Martina McBride is nowhere in his league as a singer.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G tribute to the First Lady of Country Music! I'm sure she would have loved Martina's beautiful rendition of this, Tammy's personal favorite!

Simply put, this woman is an American icon.

Tammy would be so proud of you. I've heard you sing it before and your the only one who does Tammy justice

A vastly underrated singer + an understated performance = a masterpiece rendition of Tammy's song. My brother was in a band years ago that opened for Martina at the Iowa State Fair. He said she was so gracious to everyone & invited them on her bus. Tammy also did a great cover of the Everly Brothers' song "Cryin' In the Rain" in the early 80s.

I just listened to the Tammy Wynette version and then this version and there is no comparison. Martina’s version gave me chills within the first few notes. Both are beautiful but this one has so much emotion. There will never be anyone as good as Martina to me.

I actually had the reverse opinion. Martina is great but the original artist is impossible to beat. Tammy Wynette had such a unique voice, that you knew it was her singing before her name was announced.

On the toughest of days, this beautiful reminder fills me with serenity and deep faith, thank you ❤

i love Martina and her cover of this beautifully gut-wrenching song. That being said, when Tammy sings it, you can just feel her pain and fear in a way that no one else can convey. I bet Martina would agree.

I got to know Michael back in the 90's when he came down to the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival with Luke something and we became friends. I have always had a fondness for bluesy keyboard players especially with his kind of sense of humor. I saw him at some places in Nashville when I was up there ( a bar out on the river) and other places when I was up there and he was performing. Saw him at the festival after I stepped away from working on it and we stayed in touch for years. During the last 3 months of 2019 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was operated on in Dec. and spent a lot of time in N.O. at Oschner getting chemo and radiation for a good portion of 2020 and the Covid thing hit at that time and I lost touch with a lot of people particularly from my music world and didn't know he had past. I am sorry for your loss and consider it a loss for me as well. You can find me on Facebook if you like and we can swap info and talk or text more if you like. Again I'm very sorry he's gone, I considered him a friend.

It sounds like you endured quite an ordeal. I hope the treatment you went through worked for you. I hit the wall myself about 1 1/2 yrs. ago, but nothing that serious. Micheal did have a great sense of humor. He had a habit of coming back to Erick when he was on to something good, and didn't want to be bothered. I put a piano in my house for that purpose, and he would hide out there. I miss those times where we would ride around at night and talk of all the "high strangeness" and characters in our little town, and laugh our butt's off. We had our own "Sling blades" if you know what I mean. Several of them. That is how he became "Bubber", and I became "Little Bruvver". Lol! But it is a long story. I am glad you became aquatinted with Micheal, and I got to know it. He was one of a kind. And I miss him dearly... Take care of yourself, and God Bless............... Peace.
