Martina wrote this song after her sister abused her daughter. The name and date on the headstone is her niece. So sad!! Loved your reaction!! Yes we all need to take a stand against child and our elderly abuse!!❤️🤗

A lot of reactionists watching this video miss the fact that the little boy that was at her side the whole time was her angel waiting to take her home to a Father that would love her for all eternity.

A couple of years ago there was a little boy who lived in the apartment behind where my grandchildren live. He was their friend. I noticed behavior in him that just screamed abused child but I had no proof. I asked him if everything was okay at home. He wouldn't say anything. So, I told him that if he ever needed to call the police for help he could come over there and use my phone and no one would ever know that he was the one who called. Then I prayed for him a lot. About 3 weeks later he showed up and asked to use my phone. He called the police. His ears were bleeding where he had been pulled around by the ears. The police asked him who's phone he was calling from. He put me on the phone with them. I told them he had fingernail scratches behind both ears that were bleeding and it looked like someone had pulled him around by his ears and there was a big red spot on his little back. He was scared so he said he had to go back home. The police went to his house and found his step dad drunk and his mother on meth. They were beating up on him because he had run out of the house earlier. He was removed from the home and they both went to jail. Now he lives with his Aunt and he is happy and treated good. Last year at the end of the school year I was at my grandchildren school. He was there and he ran up to me and hugged me. He said he was with someone who loved him now and he wasn't being hurt anymore. I broke down crying and thanking God for answering my prayers. I had been praying for him to speak up and let someone know if there was abuse going on. Never ever look the other way when you see the signs. If you do not know the signs there are lots of KZread videos that will teach you the common signs in a child's personality that might point to abuse.

You're right. You were not crying alone. This song really gets you. Not only is it heartbreaking, but it makes us wonder about all the times we might have seen anything a miss, maybe not something this serious, but we were just too busy or didn't want to get involved. Involved. It knows exactly where to target and touch us so that we are willing to be the person that makes the difference.

I seriously dont understand why I do this to myself. This song came out when I was 11 and had just started watching cmt. This video made me cry at 11 years old and every time I watch it to this day (I'm a 30 year old man), I cry. And everytime I see a react video to this video, I always have to watch it and inevitably cry again. This is the third that popped up in the last two days, including two back to back just now and I cried the first time...then calmed down, clicked this one and now I'm crying again smh. I have several nieces and nephews and I swear, I would go to prison for life if I found out anyone was abusing them. Idc if its their own parents, I would absolutely blank!!

Child abuse is so hard to overcome. They are, like you said, the, the angels of this world. I cannot stand anyone who severely abuses a child or a man who beats a woman. Those are gutless people who prey on the innocent or weak. I was a Cop for ten years and saw a lot of both. It is one of the hardest calls that a police officer has to make. You reaction is honest, loving and caring. It also means that you have a heart and understand that it is wrong. Take care Maddy. Keep up the good work.

Worldwide, it is estimated that one billion children between the ages of two and 17 are affected each year by physical, sexual or psychological violence - that's one in two children. Worldwide, 300 million children alone experience - three of four - between the ages of two and four years on a daily basis physically or mentally Violence by guardians. Violence often begins at a very early age. According to data from 30 countries, almost half of all Children between 12 and 23 months at home corporal punishments and a similar number experience verbal violence (e.g. yelling or insulting). The true global scale of violence against children is difficult to determine. Certain forms of violence are better documented than others - this often depends on the from a country's investment in data collection capacities. However, even when data is available, the quality and scope of information is often limited. The probability that a child died from domestic violence while you are watching this video is about 61%. It is everyone's duty to look out for and protect the most vulnerable in society.

I can tell you are a wonderful person the way this hit you! My parents were foster parents to over 30 children many of them from abusive families and we helped them and learned to see what signs of abuse were! I saw this happening one morning at my son's daycare when a male around 30 was slapping and shaking a 3-4-year-old little girl and I stepped in with day care workers put him on the ground, called police and it led to him a boyfriend being convicted and the child being returned to her daddy! I was a witness at the trial along with 3 daycare workers and we all know if you see something say something, get involved. silence is the real killer, this also applies to domestic and animal abuse!

It has a dual meaning..for the child and the teen watching the video..I actually felt worse for the teen because we know what abuse can mean to girls that age and its horrible. Jason took 2 years to complete it because it is a true story and it gave him migraines writing it.

90s videos somehow got away with showing violence (shadows) and weren't censored.

Recall that every adult that harms a child. Was once a Child themselves...People are so very much like Computers....They put out what was put into them. Some "break the chain" but statistically, most do not...Typically, the victim, is victimized...by, a Victim....And the Cycle is .... Perpetuated, not just by 'people looking the other way' but also by how we react to the current victimization we witness and respoind to...Both the Victim and Perpetrator are HURT PEOPLE...Yes, The Perp must be held accountable for their actions. But....Coming after that person with Torches and Pitchforks, will not help the Child, or the Former Child involed. Could say alot more about this, as I have experience with this in my own life...on the being abused side. But I dont feel like writing a book right now...Many others have written on this. So if this really, Really, Touched your Heart...Do your own research...

3:10...See Something, Say Something. I am a combat veteran. I have had to stand by, where some with me turned their back, I did not, I have seen the worst that humans can do to each other. However, nothing compares to situations involving children. They are incapable of protecting themselves. We must, we MUST stand up for them. If you See Something, Say Something. If you are wrong, so be it. At least you made sure you were not right.

Had to say it at one time I was that little girl. When I had my own children, I broke the chains of abuse, but I still battled in my head but it’s OK. I’m safe now.

The clues people miss about the boy that clues us to him being an angel for her: 1. When we first see him, there was a wide shot first that showed no one there. 2. When they're talking, there are no lights on in the house and the mother never looked over and said anything to him. 3. When the mother is beating her, he looks up as if to ask someone 'is it over?' 4. When he's by the police tape, he starts 'glowing'. 5. And then when he turns and goes 'through' the people. When they hug, SHE starts glowing, showing that she is an angel now. You get so set on her voice and the song that almost everyone misses these clues.

I read that this actually happened, Martina’s sister beat her daughter to death, the grave at the end of the video is the actual grave of Martina’s niece.

The boy was also an abuse victim. I think there are real occurrences around the world, that when a person is close to their time of death, they can see the souls of the dead. That is why the girl could see the boy, and the school scene showed that she was sitting by herself the whole time.

I relate to this I grew up like that little girl I’m still stuck with my parents … it started when I was two I was sex trafficked before I was adopted. No one cared , my elementary school bullied me even the staff and principal for being a sex trafficked victim. I had no one I’ve been through it and This song helps in a werid way, because my best friend ended her life because she lived in abusive household too she was seven when she did it I’ve also witnessed my siblings I used to be apart of a set of triplets they were murdered by my birth mom before hurricane Katrina started,I was in the area where hurricane Katrina happened and I almost drowned in a sewer trying to get away from my birth mom if a Pitbull hadn’t saved my life . Cyfd found me and my first foster parents were the sex traffickers… then when card found out and took me out I got adopted by abusers. 😭
