Martin Garcia Garcia complete recital, November 15, 2023 - Fazioli F308

In this video, you have the complete performance by the distinguished bronze medalist of the 2021 Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Martin Garcia Garcia, at The Grand Piano Series. Recorded live on November 15, 2023, at the reverent St. Leo Auditorium in Bonita Springs, Florida, this recital is a testament to the timeless beauty of classical piano music.
Martin performs on our magnificent Fazioli F308 piano, delivering a recital that touches the soul. The program opens with a heartfelt tribute to Frederic Chopin, which includes a selection of Waltzes and Mazurkas, the Barcarolle Op. 60, and the Polonaise Op. 44.
The program's second half transcends into the evocative world of Franz Liszt - starting with the reflective "Sposalizio," inspired by Raphael's painting "The Marriage of the Virgin" housed in Pinacoteca di Brera. The culmination of the evening was a powerful rendition of Liszt's monumental b minor Sonata. This piece demands the utmost from both the instrument and the artist.
Memorable moments such as García García's tender delivery of Chopin's Barcarolle and his masterful handling of the architecture in Liszt's b minor Sonata they elicited standing ovations from the captivated audience.

Nice recital, from what I've listened to so far; but one thing I will observe from this is confirmation of my feeling about Fazioli pianos: I dislike them, and think they are an "Emperor's New Clothes" situation -- people are told they're super-special, combining traditional hand craftsmanship and artisanship with the cutting-edge modern technology in the design and production. To me, they could perhaps be something like an "Iphone of pianos." Yeah, they exude technical brilliance and sharpness and precision, but in themselves they seem "characterless" and weirdly sterile and harsh, cold. I've always felt Yamahas are also in this direction; whereas Steinway and Shigeru Kawai have a richness in warmth and colors that make me feel and sense a partnership of the piano materials (the wood and metal) with the composer's and interpreter's intentions.

I'm afraid you are mistaking the sound engineering (and the not very favorable acoustics of the hall) of the video by the piano qualities... There's nothing sterile or harsh by the Fazioli itself. Still, anyone has their preferences - and it could be for a Estonia or a Bösendorfer. But don't forget, in the videos, the sound engineering.

@@robertocarvalhodemagalhaes3648 you could very well be right; but this is the impression I always get with Fazioli, including piano competitions where some are playing on Fazioli and others playing on Steinway or other instruments.
