I’m currently doing an exchange year in Southampton, England and the house of my student accommodation I’m living in is named after Martin Frobisher. It’s an incredible coincidence that you made a video about him and I love it since I always wondered about the story behind that name. So Thank you for that!

Frobisher was the guy that reinstated the grammar school that I attended as a young adolescent in the 1970s: Normanton Grammar School. He was memorialised in the house system there with Frobisher house, although that house had disappeared by the time I got there (we had Levett, Freston, Ward and Dodsworth houses).

H.G. and Mrs. H.G., Love this episode and like so many, the specific story is less of interest that the inspiration derived by the subject. In this comfortable21st Century, we live such lives of relative ease. I have friends who are nearly terrified of the thought of driving or moving 100 miles from their homes... and Frowbisher got in a ship that was kept from leaking by stuffing rope in the cracks and time and time again, sailed to the far ends of the earth to be with people with whom he had no means to easily communicate. Such lessons of courage and... a willingness to be uncomfortable for greater benefit, is the frequent lesson of the History Channel. Again, thank you for what you do and I am proudly a patron.
