His tone is great. Much cleaner than in the live Tull videos I’ve seen. I saw the Tull in the mid-70s, before Anderson’s voice deteriorated. They were fantastic.

Seriously, what changed? These guys have been playing pretty drudgey for years, this is great -- 8:04 -- much better arranged and played. Nice that they highlight Martin's guitar more, and Martin is more consistent in his playing. Love Martin's playing, except the overuse of these parallel thirds ... it's too much.

From what I read Martin Barre was a self starter guitar player right from the beginning given the gift. However playing art rock likely cant really relax or you miss the change so detail oriented, Blues on the other hand if your good enough player? drink 3 pint's and get away with it, maybe Evan enhance the singing guitar solos

Not sure if you know this John but Martin did not leave Tull by choice. It's been about 70 per cent Tull in the last many years he has had this band going. But he has a different take on the material, tending to the more hard rock side, though I think the acoustic section of the show with the 2 women is the best part. Just not a fan of the singer, though I can see as a rock singer he's probably quite good if one likes something like,, I dunno, ACDC maybe. If one likes Tull there is likely alot of merit in Martin's show.
