Dear Martha Stewart, I love watching your cooking tutorials. Have learnt so much from you. I have a request to make. Would love to learn some casserole dishes from you. Thanks 🙏🏾
My dad always had a houseful of teenagers. He always used his old crock pot. We ate a lot of beans. He kept everyone fed and happy. I love a big pot of beans. Thank you, Martha,

Very happy good job God bless you for all
I was looking for something like this. I’ve recently cut back on meat and poultry and needed some creative legume recipes. I hope their is an episode on lentils. Thanks everyone that put this together!
Greetings: ( USA 🇺🇸) : fwiw: I find that it is a true joy to make a pot of beans with olive oil and herbs and for share with my friends and neighbors
Thank you so much for this, I’m fairly young and never learned how to prepare dried beans. With prices going the way they are, I’m starting to purchase these for our pantry, but unsure how to properly go about making them. Thank you so much!
I have found that the freshness of the beans determines their cooking time. Old beans that have been in my cupboard for over a year took hours - 3!! - or more to cook after soaking for 2 days. By comparison, beans that are fresher may not even need to be soaked. Lentils cook in an hour or less; red lentils in 20 minutes. So, . . the older the beans the more cooking is needed.
I really like when Martha has a guest. You can tell she adores this lovely man.
What a generous person Martha Stuart is! Not only she shares her wonderful recipes, she does it in such pleasant way! Her tender love for life is shining in her every move and brightens everything around her. Thank you, dear Martha! 💐
That is quite the accent on that man, I could listen to him talk about beans all day long. They looked so good!
Always be sure to cook the beans thoroughly. Undercook beans can cause major stomach upset and actually make you very very sick. Always follow the recipe exactly to make sure you don't make your household sick
The sac of herbs & garlic is called a bouquet garni in Europe. From the French as most cuisine speak is French. Hence cuisine. I love your advice about the soaking. I love legumes.
Thank You Martha Stewart. Just what I wanted to learn-- cooking beans correctly.
Thank you. Answers several questions I had about cooking beans.
That works for me. It was worth it for the Bean Salad alone.
I LOVE 💘 how the Chef dressup & perfume those delicious delicious beans 😋 & you too Martha 💯💙 THANKS 😊
I was raised having beans and vegetables Martha 😋 I love beans 😋 and God bless ❤
I made split pea soup yesterday and the beans were from an International Market so they tasted so much better and I wasn't as bloated and over-full so they were probably not GMO beans. I cook beans all the time and watching the video here now so I can learn more.
Thank You Martha for your well presented cooking/ baking shows ! ❤ Lots to learn and be inspired by ‼️ 💕‼️

We ate beans all our lives, my kids too.
I enjoyed this video so much. Great ideas.
I love Martha Stewart recipes and tips. The best. Thank you.
I've been cooking Pinto Beans most of my life, as did my Mom. We never soaked them. Pinto beans cook just fine in 3-5 hours depending on your stove, and amount being cooked, and temp.
Just in time! TYVM!
Beautiful! Delicious! Thank you Martha!
Great show Martha and Cesare! Would love to see you back on T.V. Martha!
I have to try your baked bean recipe! It looks delightfully yummy
Love 💕 this episode!

Love this tutorial good tips
So good . Thank you so much
Martha you inspire me at all time. You and your maman.
Always trying to 3 bean casserole. Thanks
Thank you I wonder how to make beans
Marta boa tarde, eu costumo colocar de molho de um dia para outro e coloco um pouco de bicabornato para tirar aquela sensação de inchaço e gases do feijão.
Those beans look so good.
I would like to purchase the same bean pot. Where do I buy?
Awesomeness!
gorgeous food
Hello thank you for all this interesting information. Have a question though. Why add carrots I the sachets and the more in the pot? Thank you
Hello from Washington State!👍😁💐❤️
I buy my dried beans from Rancho Gordo...Best beans ever 🙂
Where the pinto beans! I remember my mom used to cook pinto beans with salted pork on the stove all days either on Saturdays or Sundays. By late afternoon the house would be awash with it's scent and by dinner we would eat it with frybread. Sometimes we would add Cheese, onions, chili and ground beef. But beans by itself is just the best.
Gorgeous you are ... the cook & the mix of variety ... well done them 💙⛥✴⛥💜👍👍👍🌷🌷🌷🌻🌷🌷🌷
But Martha, my mom sorts, rinses her beans and cooks them on the stove all day, nice and slow. She doesn’t soak and throw all that good flavor away. No gas. I sort and rinse my beans, bring them to a rolling boil, let them boil for 2 minutes and take off the heat and let sit for 1 hour. Don’t throw out the water, put back on the heat and bring back to a boil, lower heat, put in ham for seasoning. Do not salt yet. Let them gently boil for about 4 or 5 hours. You may need to add some hot water if the water gets too low. The slow, long cooking brings out the flavor of the beans, makes a thick bean sauce and also reduces the effect of gas when you eat them. At the end, if you taste and they are getting soft, taste to see if they need salt, which they probably will, then I add salt and pepper to taste. Let them cook for a little bit longer and taste again. They may need more salt. If you add salt at the beginning your beans will be hard and not get soft. The amount of salt you may need to add depends on how salty your ham is. You can always add salt, but it’s hard to take it away. We have brown pinto beans served with fried potatoes and onions and cornbread. We would also have wilted lettuce in the spring too. So yummy. I could eat a whole bunch of that.
wow, cool
Eu também não cozinho ele com sal, depois de cozido faço o tempero e salgo. Aqui no Brasil temos o prato feijão com arroz e prato nacional tanto para ricos e pobres, que por sinal temos bastantes.
Cranberry? Snow Cap?? Appaloosa??? etc....Who knew there were so many different varieties of beans!😳
Healthy for weight loss and lower blood sugar.

😇.. .
Less gas w/o the bean water!
I love how his voice is so fricking deep, but his personality is a whole different level, from sounding mean and rude, to actually being sweet and nice.
👍✌
Can you use a slow cooker?

Yes. Cook in high for 4-6 hours, no need to soak. Add your onion, garlic cloves, a carrot, a pinch of salt, a pour of olive oil. Cover with 6-7 cups of water, make sure beans are submerged. Check after 4 hours. May be done, if not cook another 1-2 hours, add hot boiling water if needed to cover the beans.
i guess this is a video for Yankees. Southerners already know this

I thought Martha Stewart was a food expert. She acts like she's never seen beans before and apparently she's never cooked any beans?! Wow
When is the "how to boil water" lesson coming? How difficult is it cook beans? Not very.
