Also known as the stone marten, house marten or white breasted marten are active especially during moonlit nights found in Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and North East of India.
Martens are omnivorous and fearless nocturnal animals.

They are deep brown from head to rump, with a bright throat ranging in colour from yellow to orange. They are larger than the yellow throated marten and found in the Nilgiri Hills, Western Ghats of South India.
Martens are cute at the same time very aggressive predators and makes growling, huffing, and scolding noises if approached.

Also known as the Kharza, are brightly colored, consisting of a unique blend of black, white, golden-yellow and brown found in the Himalyas, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and North East of India.
In a coordinated attack, yellow-throated martens can bring down rhesus macaques, mouse deer, musk deer, barking deer, langurs, even Himalayan tahr.
