I like how Marss cared so little about this react content that he didn't even watch the actual tech GimR was showing off for the boosted pivot tilts. He just watched the introductory information about the usual method for pivot cancel tilts and launched into his own thoughts lol. If anyone's interested, if you watch GimR's actual video he shows a method where allowing your character to skid for a few frames before canceling into a pivot allows you to actually gain more distance than the usual method because of how some character's skids give more forward momentum than pivots.

I didn't watch a single tech video but they all appeared in my recommendation. I was just waiting for Marss so I could copy his opinion to absolution

l've been using boosted ftilts like these for literal Years with Marth. It's really useful for him since it makes it really easy to hit tipper ftilts and it gives them a dash-attack since marth/lucina's actual dash-attack is a bottom-3 dash attack.

It isn't just a sliding ftilt, it's a way to make sliding ftilt cover slightly more distance. Marss simply skipped the actual tech part of that tech demonstration lol

None of these new tech will be important in the grand scheme of things because of how situational and potenckally inconsistent these are. This isn't mele where wavedash is a super consistent tech that leads to other stuff.

I disagree stuff like this adds up and is what made ultimate so much more punish heavy than it was at launch. There's lots of small tech people don't even notice in play when it happens but it opens up options, and at top level even small advantages matter.

Lol no this is a case where spectators like you just won't notice this stuff being used. We still have people in the comments saying that slingshot is never used despite being fairly commonly practiced at the top level. Like Tweek and MKLeo use it relatively often in most games and I doubt pretty much any of y'all knew that.

Everyone's been doing ftilt because it's easy, like you said. The point is to try and make it easier, at least conceptually for most people, to do other tilts without doing them backwards

I'll take an authentic asshole over a polite faker any day of the week. _Tons_ of people are polite fakers, including smashers, and fakery is a terrible, _terrible_ quality in a person. So, when I find someone who is at least authentic, I give them the time of day. Marss is Marss, he's not faking anything for anyone. Now, wether that's out of principle or laziness, I don't know.
