Watching the old duke blueplanet videos with him on the mic, him being such a funny dude, always clowning around, Marshall would be the las person I would think of that would be insterested in the military life. Comparing him to his early freshmen/sophomore years to now and you see such a huge change, but you still see a lot of the same Marshall.

When I think of Marshall, I think of when he first went to Duke. Then there were three Plumlee bros. at Duke at the same time. (All three in the 7 ft. range). When an opposing coach was asked what special plans did he have to beat Duke, his response was something like, "How the hell do you beat Duke? They have 21 feet of Plumlee?!" Marshall went Pro in something WAY bigger than basketball. When I see him, I think, "Man, I'm glad that dude is on OUR side!"!!!.

I saw an interview of Coach K's and he was talking about when he got a phone call from Plumlee and he told Coach K he was joining that division.....I haven't seen Coach K so full of emotion like that, he was beside himself telling this story.....Coach is so proud of him, but I don't think Coach even realizes that HE is the one that put that fire in Plumlee and made him into the man that he is.....great story! I'm writing this after the Final Four loss to UNC, it's great stories like this that would have made it so special to see Coach K and his young team go out on top......but, it ended the way God had planned, we can't question it! Good Luck Coach K, enjoy those grandchildren and the time with your daughters and your beautiful wife, you deserve all you have received for what you have given in all aspects of your life!
