When I listen to Em regular its gonna be other deeper style tracks or his disses. But if you dont appreciate these shock value (term annoys the shit out of me) you need to get a sense of humour and go read a bar breakdown on rap genius cos you dont know enough about hip hop. Another reactor hit the nail on the head with a comment while watching killshot, ems gonna destroy you while being funny. No one else does that.

These type of tracks bring in the folks on the fence and that is what has transformed Hip Hop... or at least who listens to hip hop these days. This is one of my favorite M tracks of all time because it was the first time I heard em. It was in 02 and one of my friends showed me the track and even though I didn't speak English at the time, I was hooked instantly!

You are killing my heart right now! I seriously remember where I was the first time I saw this video!!! You have been teaching me so much about hip hop, but this was the first time I was able to kinda sorta understand what he was talking about BC of the video. I'm sure so much went over my head, but I NEEDED the video to help me.

It definitely works in his favor. I was in another country in 2003 visiting family. 12 years old, and the Without Me music video came on the TV. I liked it so much, my cousins bought me the album and showed me how to find tracks on a CD player. The Eminem show was my first album and my first entry into rap and music as a whole. I still fuck with 90s Eminems young Shady side, even though I know its never coming back. I can see why others rappers have a bad taste in their mouth because of it. He changed rap and gave it a new face. But by doing so, he opened up the genre to a lot of people.
