    Hello sir, myself Prushottam Kumar from Bihar currently working in a private firm as a Quantity Surveyor for highway projects. BTech civil engineering graduate 2014 from Cochin University of science and technology. I have a keen interest in highway pavement design like Design of earthworks layer, embankment and subgrade, gsb and wmm layers, dbm and bc layers , with step by step procedure with given condition. During BTech, I have performed several tests on soil, aggregate and bitumen. I am thinking of mtech from transportation engineering from nit or iit. Your videos are conceptual, crystal clear with the thoughts. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

  • @SatishIITR

    @SatishIITR

    You mean retained stability is less than code value. It shows that there is problem in the binder. Stability loss indicates the stripping in the mix. Either increase the fine content or use some anti-stripping agent.

    Dear respected sir , Please explain why we provide voids in bituminous mixes , These are for what purpose??

  • @SatishIITR

    @SatishIITR

    2 ай бұрын

    Two reasons. (1) the layer cannot be compacted to zero air voids, neither in the lab nor in the field and therefore, there will always be some air voids, and (2) Air voids in a layer provide some space for secondary compaction in the field (compaction due to moving traffic) which is needed to avoid cracking and bleeding in the pavement,
