MARSHALL JVM - Metal 10 Years Later

New series where I'm revisiting amps I made demos for 10 years ago. Today I'm trying out the Marshall JVM again. It's such a banger of an amplifier!

Alright, now it starts. It's time to revisit the amps that I demoed back in the day when I started my channel. Starting with the Marshall JVM 410!

You should try and get your hands on an old Peavey ultra plus 120 for demo purposes. I know it doesn't necessarily pertain to this video, but it would still be cool to see. The Ultra plus amps are fantastic 90s Peavey alternative to the 5150. Please look into it !!!

The "hundred watt, hundred knob Marshall" is what someone on the Marshall forum dubbed it. Sounds monstrous.

Yup. Even more than my AVT150.
The old JVM demo was how I discovered the channel. It had such a killer mid range snarl that sounded so different from the other amps tested, still sounds amazing here. We need a stereo rig demo of the JVM and JP2C!

It became my favorite amp because of that video
What I love about Marshalls when they go heavy, is that they still sound warm at the same time. Orange rockerverbs do that too.
I always loved Marshall Metal tones... just has that special epic something
This amp is timeless
Can’t beat the 4 Channels with 3 gain stages each. Not to mention the built in reverb is pretty awesome and the Presence and Resonance knobs really make this amp so incredibly versatile. I love my JVM😭😭😭😭😭

You forgot the two master volumes. Who the hell needs a front house mixer? I totally agree: I love it and it's capabilities like the cabsim DI out.
I’m following this channel since the beginning. I still remember searching on KZread keywords like “Mark Iv metal” , “jvm metal” etc. and always these videos came up first. It’s not that they weren’t other demo gear videos at the time but they weren’t as good in terms of quality and so rhythm metal focused.
I'd love to hear the Hughes and Kettner Tri-Amp again!

The Triamp mk2 is a killer amp....and channel 3A and B can get absolutely brutal! I kinda miss having a Triamp. That said, they are an amp is not super popular and doesn't hold its value; if you are considering one, they are reasonably priced used!
Sounds killer man. You and Rabea are probably single handedly driving the used prices on these things way up 😅.

I remember your ten years old videos cause I was there to watch you man! You were the only guy who played brutal metal rithms on different amplifiers without talking! And I loved it… now, after ten years, I appreciate your channel cause you play the same awesome riffs and talk! 😬 your channel and your playing has grown so much… go on this way man!
Man, I always love that mid-range snarl and tight bottom end that the JVM series is known for. Great Job as usual Ola! Keep up the good work.
That transition from the old video to the new video was smooth as hell
SHEESH!!! The JVM 410 is one of the most versatile and gnarly amps I’ve heard. Sounds as great as it did 10 years ago. From chug to scream, both on rhythm & lead, that’s insane. Great coverage on the amp Ola!
Awesome, been waiting on this series a long time, heck yeah man! Glad you're getting back to pure "messing around with amps" videos. Great tones, funny jokes. Can't beat it.
This amp was way ahead of it’s time when it came out, so crazily versatile.
There's a roundness in that tone that no other amp has, no matter how boosted it is. That and the SLO-100. Love it.

This amp sounds awesome!! And today is my birthday and this video of yours totally made my day. Thank you very much for making this great Marshall JVM video Ola. Greetings from Thailand.
Loving this revAmped series! Would love to hear some of those VHT/Fryette demos again.
I remember that video vividly. Even back then you were way ahead of the times with the high quality videos you would do. I immediately became a fan of your channel. Been watching you since 2011, and could see you grow almost on a monthly basis. Now look at you, a success. There is no modern-day KZreadr out there that worked as hard as you did to get the success that you have. Proud of you man \m/
Ola your the man, so inspiring! I have to say the first time I played a Marshall JVM I was floored! That's the sound of Heaven's gate's opening up!!

I’ve been watching about a decade, yep! Remember the amp demos, you were one of the only people doing quality amp demos. This is amazing, you revisiting the same amps with the same riffs with new production🔥🔥🔥
my favorite thing about these videos is that ola keeps a fan on himself to keep the metal hair locks flowing, beautiful man and beautiful tones
I remember being very intimidated by this amp at my local Guitar Center. SO MANY KNOBS! After seeing that throwback clip you included of yourself I just realized I watched several of your videos from back then.
Ola you have crossed a threshold into Marshall ownership and Marshall tone love. So glad you bought this one and super stoked that you dig it. Now a 1960 matching cab to complete the package. Killer video 🤘👍 Cheers
Your original video of the JVM 410H cemented my intention to buy it, I've had mine almost as long now and wouldn't give it up for anything!
Wow, has it already been 10 years. The amp is amazing as ever.
Man, i remember discovering your vids back in those days. Proud to see how far you've come brosif.
loved the transition from 10 years ago to the present. it really shows your progression as a KZreadr!!
This was my first tube amplifier. I remember saving up every paycheck I could to get it. Still have it still love it.
...And wearing the same jersey that's some continuity! Sounds Awesome Ola! I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. I wasn't around for the first time but I have watched those old videos many times nonetheless.
Wonderful (again) "LOVE THIS AMP". Very cool your reactions about the sound. This is very versatile, complete. Love it
It has been my main amp for 10 plus years. It definitely kicks ass. You can cover a lot of ground with it. Love it!
I like that people are rediscovering the JVM, partly because I bought one that I really love two years ago.
Gigged with my JVM 50W head for 10 years. Absolutely loved the thing. It was so reliable and could just plug in and play with great tone night in night out.
Great video, I got my first Marshall at age 16 and have loved them ever since. Through the years I have tried several other amplifiers and always go back to Marshall they just have "the sound ". 👍🤘
Bought my jvm410h back in 2007. It pretty much has everything i need for guitar tone. Excellent video, thank you!
Sounds so good! Thanks for the demo
I was hoping you’d revisit the JVM. I love this amp. Cheers Ola!
Ahh my amp! I play mine through a Marshall MF400 cab tho... the JVM is such a versatile head... so many sounds - Cool vid Ola!
The JVM410H is the only guitar amp I have ever bought and never sold! I love mine. I’ve never played anything else that I liked better
Sweeeet!!! The first video is how I discovered your channel years ago. This is the same amp I have. (Only one I can afford😭😭) Loved the old video but I have been looking forward to this video since I stared following your channel Much love from Arizona.
Awesome !! Guitar gear related video in a guitar channel !! That's what i like to see. Sounds killer.
I cannot wait to see some of your old Peavey stuff done again!
Awesome riffs always this is very inspiring to me and also good soundsetting . Solar guitars also rad man. Keep on
So stoked you are going through these again! Kuddos for wearing the same shirt.
Man, I loved these videos. These were the reason why I bought a Marshall JVM410h and a Dual Rectifier as well. Thanks for ruining me financially, Ola! :D
I really loved this video. I would love to see you revisit more of the amps that you did old videos of. The first that come to mind are the Engl Savage, DAR Future Breed Machine (if you can even get your hands on one of them again), and maybe even a comparison between your Krankenstein and the Krankenstein Jr. that is being made now.
Great idea man! I’ve been watching your vids since the beginning (don’t think I was subscribed though). Would love to hear some more.
This amp, laney vc50 combo and rockerverb mkii are the amps I regret getting rid of the most. It’d be amazing if Marshall would add this amp to their 20 watt series.

@@wheresallthezombies The modern 20 W JCM 800 has no vintage idol. If you like the current 20 W better than the old 100 W you simply like a different amp. The 20 W JCM 800 has by far not that bone dry, yet driving and not too distorted sound of it's 80ies compadre.

Great video, I like the 10 year revisit idea. Even though I am a die hard Mesa user, I've had 2 JVMs. Had to get rid of the first one for financial reasons, but I just got another one recently. Mine is the 205H, only 50 watts, but it's awesome all the same and I will never get rid of it again.

Put simply that sounded AWESOME. I really want ome even more now. Killer amp
Played this monster live at an indoor stage 11 years ago, once..Insane fits it pretty well. Not only sound wise (the recording in the video is IMO spot-on), but it was coming through so brutally clear in the whole on-stage sound that it was basically a mistake, to use monitoring for my own guitar, because i heard myself almost too good/much. :D
That was the very first video of yours I remember watching , I was *almost* was convinced to get one because of that demo..
Wow clever transition from the old video to the new one!!
Just got myself one of these monsters. I mean, even the clean channel literally chugs!! WTF, How good is that!? :)
Great video! It's especially cool to see you come back playing the same track but with a kickass backing track and a kickass mix, hair blowing in the breeze, shit talking and burping all over the place. Way more pro set up too. You've come such a long way! Regarding the amp, sometimes I hear Marshalls and I'm like "fuck yeah!" and then I hear other Marshalls and I'm like "fuck no!". One of the most confusing things ever, I don't understand it. I love JTMs and Jubilees but JCMs and now the JVMs not so much. Wtf.
Love that mid range growl
Man I remember watch those old no talking videos. You’ve come a long way!
awsome amp! and yes Ola, you still fit in that superb' sepultura t-shirt - merciiiiii

Ola: Plays riff from 10 years ago perfectly. Me: Forgets what the fuck I came up with literally 10 seconds ago.
Gotta get that Mark IV going just for old times sake! I had one and sold it in the early 2000s, and I can't tell you how many times I watched your Mark IV video and cursed myself for ever getting rid of it. Finally bought another last year and it's my main rig again today.
You're better at videos and tone today, it shows, good job.

Ola, you make every amp you play sound good! Nice shirt by the way
Yes!! Love me some Marshall tones!! ❤️
Holy duck! Sounds great! And great t-shirt too! 😬
I still have my JVM 205H which sound incredible ! Nice flexibility, great sound on every mode and it's all about the midrange ! Even if you scoop the mids completely, there is still a nice midrange that allows the guitar to sit well in the mix, love that !
Thank you for revisiting some amps for the newer viewers
I own the Satriani edition and just love it, thanks Oka!
