    I think it's more than. I think he wanted too much power and wanted to also be GM, buy his own groceries. Expect that hasn't worked well over the past four seasons. His coaching tree is an utter joke being the only really successful ones did it in college not the NFL. The ones who tried in the NFL failed and failed hard. I get tired of hearing how great Belichick is because with Tom Brady. He hasn't won much. Five seasons in Cleveland, one winning season and yes. Browns went to the playoffs. His first year in New England with Bledsoe starting, 5-11. His young QB regressed after a promising looking rookie season. I don't see what he has to offer, I really don't.

    My speculation on Bill Belichick is a combination of the power structure and his age. There is a lot to consider with Bill Belichick for a team owner. Bill is NOT an analytics guy, but teams have developed analytics departments in their organization. A teams hesitation can be explained in an analogy where everyone is trying to get the best 5G smart phone, and Bill Belichick is a 3G flip phone. Yes, the flip phone is great for calls and text, and the battery seems to last longer, but cell phone networks have moved beyond 3G.

    Atlanta made a good move. Mr. Morris can be manipulated because he wants the job. Every NFL Owner and General Manager WANTS just a tad of power, but Mr. Belichick wants ultimate control. It worked with Mr. Kraft because Belichick and Brady worked great together as a team and Tom contributed to decision making and "sometimes" Belichick listened. If I was owner, I would not permit ANY coach to have ultimate control and I wager that is why Belichick may never coach again in the NFL.

    Morris is below .400 as head coach. He went 4-7 as an interim in Atlanta. His vaunted defenses haven't ranked in the top half of the league in over a decade. Atlanta won't be contender with Morris no matter who they get at QB.

    I like Marshall, but let's cut the B.S. Bill has been a terrible coach and run the Patriots into the ground without Brady. Bill would do anything to have a Head Coaching gig to pursue the record that means EVERYTHING to him.

  • @pipipermusic
    @pipipermusic5 ай бұрын

    Marshall, you sound confused as hell, you say it was a great hire then you turn around and say Bill was a better choice, I swear most of these ex players need to go in concussion protocol. And by the way, ALL OF THE OTHER teams passed on Bill , so why not criticize them as well. This so called GOAT is unemployed, so who is the problem? At least give the Falcons some credit for at least talking to him. Why not go after the others who really said “ Hell no” to Bill, they didn’t even want him in the building . The Falcons interviewed him TWICE ! It seems likely that Bill blew the damn interview. It’s reminds me of someone who hasn’t interviewed in years, and when they finally get a shot at an opportunity that they may be overqualified for, they screw it up ( been there and done that ). One more thing, what has Bill done without Tom ? Why was New England so ready for him to go ? How the hell did Matt Jones regress so much after a stellar rookie year ? Enough said .

    I'm a Falcon fan but I think the bigger question is this: Why has no other team been interviewed Belichick? The answer is simple. Doing things Bill's way means firing everybody, making tons of roster changes, and then establishing whatever it is Bill wants to establish. He runs everything. No team in the league wants that. No team. None. There ya go. This clip makes the Falcons look like Rich McKay was the sticking point, which is stupid. Bill wants all the power anywhere he goes. He needs to be humbled. Failure is supposed to humble people. His ego is far too big. The past ain't winning Bill any future Super Bowls. Rings don't win rings. He knows that but he doesn't want to change. That's up to him.
