England’s foremost volume dealers resurrect four U.K.-made stomps that inspired players from Johnny Greenwood to John Mayer.
BluesBreaker
The sound of the 1962 ‘Bluesbreaker’ amplifier became a legend, with the smooth tone, rich warmth and full character that gave guitarists more expression than ever before. The original Bluesbreaker pedal took this and put it in a stompbox. Today, this reissue accurately delivers the timeless tones and style once again. It captures the magic of those classic vintage amps with added sweetness, crispness and extra edge to carry solos and squeeze out those vital harmonics.
DriveMaster
The Drivemaster is based on the original Guv’nor but takes things a stage further with a new tone and drive network. It’s three band tone network acts as if adding an extra amp to your set up, with real Marshall tone and overdrive. The iconic look has also been accurately recreated, right down to the finish of the control knobs and unique shape. There’s plenty of reasons the first edition is so heavily sought after today. This reissue takes everything that made the original so special and replicates it for today’s player.
The Guv'nor
Released in 1988, the Guv'nor set the bar for future generations of distortion pedals. This reissue faithfully recreates the classic sound of The Guv’nor, providing a smooth overdriven sound with a touch of compression. The pedal is housed in a casing that is accurately modelled on the original, from the unique shape right down to the individually coloured control knobs. All that’s missing are the stories collected over 30+ years of use, but that’s where you come in.
Shredmaster
The original Shredmaster was our first ever high-gain pedal and has become synonymous with game-changing music throughout the 90s and beyond. The ultimate care has been taken to ensure that this reissue accurately recreates that iconic Shredmaster sound. The pedal casing is accurately modelled on the bespoke design of the original. The gold Shredmaster name, embossed Marshall logo and the heavy-duty casing are all right here, exactly as you’d expect.

I want a JB record. Come on John stop holding back.
Love Marshall. “The sound of ROCK” ! 🤘🏽🎸
This is the finest gear demo I’ve seen in KZread ‼️. Thank you 😍🎸🔥
Forget the pedals, LOVE your playing, and style John!!!!
BluesBreaker suits John the most, but also liked hearing him play through the ShredMaster.

I would say the BluesBreaker and The Guv'nor and a Les Paul sound good, but that's just me
Great demo, cheers for this!
Thanks for the Demo guys, love the riffs🤘🖤
Top playing Jon as usual
You are a bad man! I'm sitting here thinking the perfect outtro would be You Shook Me and bam, there it was. Respect...
Honest question: If not for John Mayer would they ever have rereleased these? It just seems like anything he touches becomes like gold basically.

Don’t forget Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead who famously used the Shredmaster. It’s the source of that famous “CHUKKA…CHUKKA” in Creep, and shares lead duties with his Boss SD-1z
Awesome demo John🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🎸
Beautiful top on that Beast of a Les Paul!
Great Sound!!!
Nice demo John! Nice hair too! ;-)
Everyone always shys away from the shred master ❤
What type of V-8 motor to put in your muscle car rig ?
In Birmingham we love the Gov'nor'...Boo Boo Boo...Great pedal...
cool pedals, have the original drivemaster from 92 i think😊
Hells bells!
❤
John rules.
Gotta say, regardless of how they sound, they're way bigger than they need to be. Anyone struggling with space on their board (so...all of us?) isn't going to be too keen on these surely. Just my opinion.
How similar ate these to the originals?
No, I don't know what you mean by the "contour knob". I wish you would have demonstrated it in several different positions. I am trying to figure out how a contour control differs from a "mid control. I've watched you religiously for many, many years and I am always informed and entertained by your rig reviews and know you to be a great player. This video is maddening, especially when you play the LP through the Bluesbreaker... you never opened up on it with the bridge pickup. Just goofed around with the neck pickup. This is unlike you. You are always very thorough. Well, I know I'll get any angry responses, but I really wanted to know a few things you hit on but did not explain. How is a contour knob different than a middle knob? What does a Bluesbreaker sound like when cranked through a bridge pickup hard?- Like you did with. the other pedals? Thank you if you do respond.. seriously. But I know you are very busy and get it if you don't. Again, not trying to be nasty, I respect you very much. - SJB
What is the intro riff?
Does that Les Paul have a "B-Bender" in it???

yup
I thought the Guv Nor and the Drivemaster are the same pedal?? Did they change the circuit?
@45zapatero

I thought that also, just an effectsloop on the guv'nor and not on the drivemaster.

My drive master just came in today and in the instructions they state they updated the drive and tone circuit so it is different from the governor although they stated in the instructions, it based of the governor pedal but it is not the same circuit so take it from someone who bought one and that's what they state in the instruction manual. I was disappointed because until it came to my door I was under the same influence. I had the governor on a waiting list since June and now they tell me it won't be in until next year, so under the influence of them being the same, I was disappointed when the instructions stated they have made changes to the drive circuit and the tone circuit, I said to my self, a reissue pedal should be the same as the original. The master drive still is awesome but I can't compare it to the governor because it never was in stock. Reading that they changed this in the reissue made me disappointed in Marshall but the drive master still Is a killer pedal. Don't call it a reissue if it is changed.
What amp

Nice pedals! 1st comment
Demasiado pesados son ladrillos
Your better then Mayer 💤
$250 ? I would look to the used market before buying for any pedals . The New retail market is fucking crazy . Not everyone lives in London , NY or LA and has a $100k year job taking pictures for rare frogs !!! GTFOH !!!
Kinda somewhat a rigged demo simply because John's a player and can make anything sound good.😁 Give those pedals to a kid who learned Smoke On the Water only yesterday and see how they sound. Although admittedly, this was far more entertaining!😂
Next time do your homework! The Guv'nor and the Drive Master are identical pedals - they have been right from the beginning!

The circuits are identical but as a whole they aren't identical as the guv'nor has the effects loop😮

If they are identical why do they look different? Huh? Huh? And why do they have a different name? Not so smart now are you? I am so smart! S-M-R-T!
