MARSHALL AMPLIFIERS | How Do They Do It?

Ойын-сауық

Before Marshall created its famous amplifiers, Beatlemaniacs could barely hear the boys from Liverpool playing in a live concert. Check out how an amplifier completely changed the live concert experience!

If this is good enough for big Satch, no complains from my side :) And, as all JVMs, this little beauty sounds great even on the lower volumes, which making it great amp for live, rehearsals, recording and also home practice. True all-rounder, perfect choice, I recommend!

The part about needing to hand wire tube amps and not using PCB construction is not accurate. They hand wire (turret board construction) some of their amps because the customers think it makes a difference and are willing to pay more for it. The truth is that a Quality PCB is just as reliable, more consistent sounding amp to amp and can be less noisy. The main advantage of a turret board vs PCB is that it’s easier to fix at a component level and easier to do mods on.

As 70's, 80's and 90's music dies out, so will Marshalls. As a bass player that grew up in the 80's, technology marches on and it gets better. I used to play with a Peavey CS1200 power amp (600 watts per side) and now use a Crown 4002 XTi (1200 watts @4 ohms per side). Not only is my newer amp far more powerful but it is literally 1/3rd the weight. A main reason why Marshall never really broke into the Bass market was because bass players care little for tubes. Sure, you might get some bass players who think tubes give a "warmer" sound, but the majority always play solid state amps. Even my Peavy CS1200 was solid state and it NEVER failed after 30 years. There were no tubes to replace or bias. The thing was an absolute tank and, considering the power requirements of bass players, thats what you dont get with tubes.
