Absolutely love the Acton 1. I have one since 2017 and to this day the sound quality still blows me away, such a clear/crisp sound. The soundstage is amazing too.

I just bought the Marshall Acton II, and I just love this speaker so much. It seems the voices are in the room with us. The sound is just so present, solid and full. I usually drop the midrange and step up the treble all the way and the bass a bit also. The bass is so rich and is never overwhelming and doesn't turn the sound muddy. I had the chance to compare it to the killburn 2 and, in contrast to what I had seen on youtube, the Killburn 2 sound is much boxier and muddier. It was actually very easy to hear the difference. The volume on the Acton 2 really goes up in the last steps of the volume knob. I am actually very curious to hear an Acton I, because, for me, it is hard to imagine a significantly better sound, even considering the size. I was so happy when I bought it, maybe because I think I had never heard such an impressive sound, even with in-ear headphones (sony for years on end...). This was the fucking purchase of the year!

Hi Danny , Marshall acton 1 has not a single amplifier but 3 amplifiers : 1x 25w for the woofer and 2x 8w for the tweeters.

Great, I just ordered Acton II

I have an Acton II and have always wondered why it sounds dead, even comparing to my google home…

I have 3 speakers. The ACTON 1 started it all I found it in a pawnshop and instantly feel I love the got the ACTON 2 the first one is definitely better I love the way it sound but I love them both equally lol n the other one I own is the stockwell the first one.

just bought this at Target for daughter. Volume controls using Marshall app work fine. But using iPhone volume controls only works sometimes. If iPhone volume is all the way high when it’s not working, when it decides to work, volume will suddenly be blasting. Did I get a defective unit?

The stockwell will not hold a candle to the flex or charge 5. As for bose vs jbl both are great sound so it should be more about features.

also, can you please make a video on Acton 2 vs Acton 3? there's a huge price difference and I saw in some other videos that they both sound the same. is it true?

Haha well there's really no comparison due to size differences. The emberton is much more sophisticated than the acton ii. However the acton 3 is in an entirely different realm of audio goodness.

I have an option to choose between the Emberton 2 and the Acton 2 (with just about $80 separating them! What should I do? Or look at another Marshall in this range? @@rachitmardia3136 I would wait for now. I do not like the acton II. It sound boxy to me. The emberton is good but you won't get any bass on it. I feel like marshall is going to be releasing a kilburn 3 and tufton 3 in the future here if portability is for you.

In my opinion, also the Woburn II sounds muddy compared to the Woburn Multi-Room (i didn't listen to the Woburn I).

Get a Sonos play 5 It’s a king when comes to sound. More spendy though… Marshall speakers are OK but they’re lacking in the mid section. And are blunt, not giving you any spatial sound. I gave up on my Tufton.. Replaced with Aiwa exos 9. Which is great speaker for its sound and quality. But it’s discontinued and hard to get hands on.

do you know where to find the brown version of either acton2 , stanmore 2 or woburn 2?

Marshall is coming out with new III versions of all their speakers and some have a brown skin coming out.

is this still your evalutation in aug 2023 - did the 3 version got any better sound wise ? have the option to buy a used version 1 for around 72$.. but unsure how much sound quality there is in the older bluetooth protocol vs 5.0 and higher.. I mean.. when streaming from spotiry will i actual hear any real difference contra if the v1 - taking into consideration the sound profile you highlight being better on the 1 compared to the 3.

The 1 still sounds great. Both the 3 & 1 only use the SBC codes because bluetooth was having issues with their LE Audio stuff. I'd go for the 3 personally, its got a bigger sound stage, but the 1 might be better for a purist.

@@DannyPops thx… googlet a bit further and found that the stanmore 2 voice have chrome cast option… thats also quilte interesting - but unsure how Big of a difference it really is casting from Spotify to Bluetooth or to Chrome cast protocol. Your always close to the speaker anyways so the need for the speaker to stream instead of recieving BT signal is maybe not completly nesesary feature. I know the stanmore is also bigger and pricier x 4’ish so maybe 2 different things to compare agains each other. But just for a Living room or a kitchen banging some EDM or rock out maybe the acton 1 used is a good entry and waaaay better than my crappy google nest mini 😂

If that's the case then the Acton 1 is probably your best bet. It's also the budget option to buy used.

Everyone please be advised This marshall shit malfunction right after 1 year warranty Customer service just told this out of warranty product no longer has components for repair or replacement service even if I am willing to pay for the maintenance fee

That's unfortunate, thanks for sharing. Once they finish their run of a certain generation have no doubt that they don't plan on doing repairs, since they are consumer products. To expand though, I have well over 10 marshall speakers (gen 1-3) and none of them have broken yet but also I don't use them constantly. Also I'm not affiliated with marshall in any way other than making some money on those affiliate links.

Call me surprised. I have an original Acton speaker and to me the sound quality is atrocious. Muddy and distorted at anything beyond a medium volume. My 15 year old Bose computer speakers sound infinitely better. Maybe I got a defective unit but this Marshall certainly doesn't go to 11!

hey gang! i have a slight dilemma....which marshall speaker to get...the acton 3 or killburn 2? i noticed marshall specs for acton 3 are 30w woofer and 2x 15w tweeters...all front facing i think while the killburn has 1x20w woofer and 2x 8w tweeters 1 front 1 rear facing,,, yet the decibels are higher at 100db+ for the killburn2 and 95db for acton3....kinda backwards if you use logical thinking but hey...im no sound engineer!...just bizarre that a 36w would be louder than a 60w speaker.... im a half deaf drummer with 45yrs of auratory abuse lol. anyway im leaning toward killburn 2 but would appreciate the advice of those who have heard both speakers side by side! Thanks guys! im expecting my emberton 2 tomorrow morning from marshall.com....i was screwed with a fake stockwell 2 by a market place seller on amazon.ca 2 weeks ago....thankfully amazon stepped up and fully refunded me and told me to keep the defective and fake as fk stockwell2!...the squirrely charging is what gave it away!! so please beware if you think of dealing with marketplace sellers....i just didnt know...i was enticed by a 30% discount...thankfully i was protected by amazon! so ty amazon.ca i recommend you deal with authorized dealers only or marshall.com directly...which is what i did...they gave me 2 great discount codes for any 2 items they sell...so Cool!!!! anyway im super anxious to get my emberton 2 tomorrow!...Tc marshall fans! thanks for the vids Danny!
