Mars in 4K - #2

The world first returns! More new footage from Mars in stunning 4K!
Again, the images are all real, taken by NASA rovers, directly from the surface of the planet. So sit back, relax and enjoy. There are some bonus clips at the end which are truly mind-blowing.
A question often asked is, who is standing on Mars to take a picture of Curiosity?
Although this looks like an image taken by some sort of Martian, it is actually the result of dozens of exposures taken by a camera on the rovers robotic arm. The arm is then digitally removed from each image before they are stitched together in the usual way. This provides the Engineers at NASA with a clear view of Curiosity, to check it is still operating as it should.
The sometimes unfavourable terrain on Mars presents a real danger for the rovers. Deep sand, steep climbs and rocky terrain all provide challenges. Curiosity was built with these threats in mind. With 6 independently powered wheels, the rover is designed to withstand a tilt of up to 45 degrees. However, not wanting to take unnecessary risks, the team at NASA programmed the rover to avoid tilting more than 30 degrees, through it’s hazard avoidance software.

Simply amazing experience. No words can describe my feelings. There is so much out there in the space to explore, yet humans are busy spending their resources on military and fighting with each other. Just imagine, what can we, the human race, can collectively do, if all these resources were spent on similar missions. After watching these two videos, I realized how lonely we humans are in this big cosmos.

Always amazed how much like earth parts of mars look. Just hope one day - fingers crossed during my lifetime - human beings will visit this fascinating planet. Ive got a feeling the live footage of astronauts descent to the martian surface would be the most watched event in human history

I salutr you for such a dire hard work . I also salute the team of NASA for stiching the films and processing them to bring at this viewable situation. However Great Job. Thanks to all.

It would be cool to see Mars with real colours (the colours you'd see if you were there in real life). I know the scientists change the color to make it better visible or to show a specific kind of terrain...

Another fantastic set of images....I'm amazed how different land textures are in the areas recorded. Some areas certainly look to be sedimentary rocks laid down when water/liquid was present. There is what looks like shist and basalt too. Some of the scatter of rock fragments look as though they have been ejected from afar....maybe due to the thin atmosphere & lower gravity ....is this possible?
