Marlon Brando Tahitian Dancing!

Ойын-сауық

When humanitarian organization UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) organized a gala in Paris in 1967, Marlon Brando -- who was actively involved with UNICEF causes -- agreed to participate. And from the looks of things he had a good time with it!

People can't stop bashing Marlon's weight in his later years but the man went trough some really horrific moments : his son was convicted of manslaughter, his daughter killed herslef. No surprise that the heartbroken man became incredibly depressed and tried to compensate his lack of happiness with food. R.I.P to the greatest actor ever+beautiful soul

Yes, and he was keenly aware of his role in his childrens' demise as you can see when he testifies of his failures as a father at his son's murder trial. He was a man that knew his choices had gravely affected his kids and felt responsible for their demise. No wonder he became a recluse and fat in his later years. What an impact on acting tho.

Brando had class and he stood up for all races. In the 60's that was few & far between especially in the south. This performance was reminiscent of the dance of the Tahitian girls in Mutiny on the Bounty, one of & arguably his best movies he ever made. Forget waterboarding, having a beautiful girl shaking her thing at close range would make me crack up and confess, lol.

Brando was also a hell of a good conga drummer, able to jam on complex, exacting Latin rhythms with the high-level pro's. Among his teachers was the legend Jack Costanzo. You can tell from from some of his other movies that he could dance a lot more than these simple steps. Costanzo was a dancer as well and part of the New York mambo scene in the 40's, and in the circles Brando moved in and with his love of Latin rhythms, I suspect he had more of a dancer's lifestyle than is commonly known. He had his congas shipped to wherever he was working in the movie biz, and congas often lead to partying and dancing. I can tell you from decades in Latin dance and drum jamming scenes that once you're into congas like he was, it's difficult NOT becoming a dancer if one has any ability at all to capture and express the rhythms with one's body, although it can also go the other way,: proficiency in dancing the Latin dances can also drive a dancer into becoming a percussionist or congero. However he came about it, there was a lot to the man.

Please don't use your yardstick to measure or judge the life of someone else whom you don't really know. Also, when one judges, one can only judge based on one's own value, from the angle of one's own perception, which may not be a fair and meaningful endeavor. In addition, fate often looms large in one's lives, which are often beyond one's control. So being understanding is better than being judgmental.
